We currently have 4 ISA certified arborists on staff, and we are searching for another climbing arborist to fit the needs of a strong team environment within the Tree Care Division. Casper's trees are valuable because we just don't have very many of them so caring for them is crucial. We have spent the last 26 years perfecting the art and science of tree care just for Casper trees. Every tree species has a few specific needs and those needs must be met within a certain time frame. We start by meeting with a client and looking at their trees to write a customized Tree Care Plan for their particular tree needs. This Tree Care Plan will be administered by professionally trained ISA certified arborists and then their trees will be able to do what they do best - grow. We are constantly amazed at how these trees adapt and thrive here in our high mountain desert when given the opportunity to do so. TREE CARE SERVICES: Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Deep Root Fertilization custom formulations just for Casper Soils Ash Borer treatment Insect treatment and prevention progams. Tree trimming and removal Ornamental pruning Stump grinding Air Spading for root system restoration What a day is like: Daily focus is working together on a Tree Trimming Crew to provide high quality tree care to our clients. The Tree Trimming Crew is involved in all aspects of pruning, removals, and other facets of tree care listed above. Crew members are able to safely operate all equipment and perform the assigned job tasks while also providing excellent service to our clients. We need an ISA certified arborist with these qualities: • Experience with proper pruning practices including large shade trees and ornamentals • Ability to identify native and introduced tree and shrub species and have a working knowledge of each species' characteristics • Ability to climb without spurs • Experience with tree care safety standards • Practical knowledge of chainsaw and equipment operation • Experience with aerial lifts • Demonstrate additional competencies in all areas of knowledge related to climbing. • Communicate advanced understanding of all safety policies and procedures, including hazard tree identification. • Utilize specialized equipment properly for climbing (ropes, saddle, ladders) along with all associated tools. • Apply knowledge of branch collars and proper pruning cuts with total competence on chainsaw operations in small to medium difficulty (40-50') trees. • Employ ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and Terminology and ANSI Z safety. • Demonstrate knowledge of different tree species and different techniques necessary for climbing each tree including Maples, Ash, Apples (Crab vs. Regular), Populus Species, Pines and Spruce. • Complete work exhibiting ability to raise a ladder, throw a rope, and safe techniques to climb into a tree. • Set up safely with proper placement of lowering lines in a strong enough crotch, know when to attach a tag line, and engage proper lowering techniques. • Know when to double crotch and use other appropriate techniques when working in trees.
