Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Usable, Maintainable and delivered on time. LCE consists of multiple specialty disciplines that influence the design and architecture of Raytheon products. Our LCE resources interface directly with program leadership, technical leadership, and our customers throughout the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our engineers provide subject matter expertise in the following engineering disciplines: Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Testability, System Safety, Human Factors, and Supportability.
What You Will Do:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineer to join us onsite in a closed area program with the LCE Safety Engineering Team.
As a Senior System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).
Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
Coordinating with customer safety representatives applying methods, standards, and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software, hardware, and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated to the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Performing System Safety planning, hazard analyses, and design analyses
Briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design
Interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering
Managing System Safety Working Group(s) between key Raytheon and Customer representatives
Ability to work on Special Access Program(s)
This position is posted as ONSITE and can be based at Raytheon's locations in El Segundo, CA; Dulles (Sterling), VA; Aurora, CO or CityLine (Richardson), TX
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
Experience with Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering.
Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with DoD System Safety Programs e.g. MIL-STD-882
Experience with system and software safety implementation in Agile Development environment
Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integration showcasing execution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472.

Responsibilities:
Trade Management handles trade matching, trade settlement, and trade reporting for its investment manager clients. Securities in scope include equities, fixed income, listed derivatives, foreign exchange, and TBAs.
