A Day in the life: As the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for managing, leading and integrating the work of the Facilities and Maintenance staff to ensure day-to-day responsibilities are achieved in a timely and responsive manner to support business processes and Manufacturing operations plant wide. Provide all necessary supervision of execution of relatively complex project activities. Ensure deliverables are relevant and meet company standards. The Maintenance Manager is also also responsible for assessing, analyzing and implementing facility projects or efficiency improvements on a project basis. In addition, you are responsible for identifying, hiring and monitoring outside contractors to ensure all facilities, grounds and office areas are efficiently and cost effectively maintained. What will you be doing: * Exhibit leadership qualities that move the business forward through the collective talents and efforts of self and others * Empowering team members to deliver results against established goals and priorities, while creating an environment where everyone can do their best work * Continuously improving the operation, driving innovation, including the utilization of new technology and automation with effective utilization of capital and return on investment * Collaborate with key partners to develop annual plans; Facilities budget, capital budget, headcount and labor plan, etc * Provide input and leadership to achieve optimization of assets as well as lead safety initiatives in technical areas. Champion or support design, improvements, and systems to support safety excellence. * Manage and maintain a preventative maintenance program that optimizes production machinery performance and availability. Partner with Production and Engineering to implement technical machine improvement and efficiency gains. * Responsible for the repair of production equipment in a timely, efficient manner, minimizing machine down-time; Order and maintain stock supply of equipment parts to minimize machinery down-time and ensure timely repair, when necessary. Manage the department budget within established guidelines and objectives. * Responsible for maintaining a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget. This includes but not limited to heating and HVAC system operation and repair, in addition to maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment. * Support of any urgent requests and/or escalations to ensure quick and immediate resolution and communication with stakeholders. * Work with Quality Assurance / Improvement to ensure that property complies with Risk Management and OSHA requirements * Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients; establish consistent communication mediums with internal clients which will enable timely notification of needs and problems; continually strive to enhance the level of service provided by the department. * Responsible to manage the group of emergency contact people to respond to facility related emergency issues at all times. This group assigns resources and provides direction to implement corrective action. This group also works in conjunction with the onsite Security group and local emergency services. * Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives. Identify and execute continuous improvement projects that deliver significant annual savings in direct labor, energy, and material waste. Manage the alarm response program External Contractors * Manage vendor relations and supervise multi-disciplinary teams of staff that includes security, cleaning, landscaping, snow removal, locksmiths and other external vendor * Responsible for monitoring and renegotiating contracts with outside contractors to ensure the services agreed upon are met and renewal periods are completed in a timely manner; identify alternative contractors when necessary to ensure competitive pricing and quality services are provided. Do you have what it takes (minimum qualifications): Experience: Required * Minimum 5-8 years in plant maintenance /facilities management with food processing experience. Skills & Knowledge: * Ability to start, address and prioritize process issues independently and juggle multiple issues with minimal supervision. * Ability to effectively delegate and supervise in a fast-paced environment * In Depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles * Strong analytical skills and in depth understanding of statistical probability * Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and internal client service orientation * Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills * Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, machinery and mechanical trades. * Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to use AutoCAD is a plus * Travel - Up to 20% to attend Business related functions and supplier meetings. * Shift work/weekend work as necessary * Available for 24/7 requests related to all shifts activities Education: * BS Degree in either Mechanical, Civil, Electric or Chemical Engineering or 8 to 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
