How You Will Make an Impact:
The Welder is responsible for operating a multitude of welding equipment working primarily on aluminum, steel and galvanneal requiring a high grade of skill.

The Nuts and Bolts:
Wiring for trucks from front to rear lights, camera sensors, and any other custom requests.
Welding metals according to customer or employer requirements.
Installing a variety of lift gates, walk ramps, and platforms.
Ensuring high safety measures while working such as donning protective gear for the face and body.
Operating heavy equipment such as industrial saws.
Examining the equipment after welding and advising maintenance of defects.
Planning/setting of welding operations before beginning.
Reading blueprints and weld according to the plan.
Training junior and entry level welders.
Senior welders will supervise welding operations of junior welders.
Required Credentials:
Must be able to pass a weld test
Must be proficient in three or more of the welding materials: mild steel, galvineel, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel
Must have 6 years of welding experience or more
Basic math, tape measurement and computer skills
Basic experience with hand tools
Able to understand and comprehend measurement
Able to read and interpret blueprints for special applications
Must be 18 years old
Preferred Credentials(but not required):
Previous experience in manufacturing
Previous experience working on truck bodies

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Mig welder in solid, metal-core, and flux-core wires. This person will need the ability to qualify to AWS D1.1 standards at Cutting Edge. This person could also potentially help us qualify new weld procedures as we expand into new markets. This employee will typically weld parts that have already been fit-up, but some basic fit-up tasks may be needed at times. We have an experienced group and on-staff CWI that is eager to work with/develop new team members.
Requirements
• MIG welding experience in solid, metal-core & flux-core wires
• Must be able to read blueprints and weld symbols, weld gage, and tape measure
• Experienced in 11 ga. to heavy plate, completing single-pass and multi-pass welds per print and code
• Must be able to operate overhead cranes, hand tools, grinders, torches, etc. in a safe manner
• Should be a reliable teammate who's driven to excel while maintaining a high level of quality and meeting personal and company goals

A Day in the Life:
Cosmetic welding on 16 - 20 gauge stainless steel
TIG welding sheet metal and/or components in flat, vertical and overhead positions, occasional MIG welding
Interpreting blueprints and follow work instructions and weld symbols related to the weld and metal finish process
Handle and position work with fixtures and regulate heat, and filler rod as required by AWS standards.
Comply with all policies/procedures, quality standards, and safety and regulatory requirements.
Process quality checks as required
Most work is independent, with collaboration with your team as necessary

MIG Welder - 1st shift
Welder Job 46 miles from Watertown
Read work orders and manufacturing standards, follows production drawings.
Understand engineered drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and the planning of tasks. Be able to read and understand weld symbols.
Understand and carry out our welding procedures, including torches, drills, dye grinders, hammers, levels, plasma cutters and overhead cranes.
Perform all welding tasks and related fabrication and finishing processes.
Rig, hoist, and move materials within worksite.
Understand all quality requirements for products and meet those requirements.
Perform in-process testing and inspection to ensure parts meet production specifications and standards.

Qualifications:
Knowledge in welding industry.
1-2 years of welding experience preferred.
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, technical drawing, and procedural manuals.
Able to work in a quality-production environment; keep a clean workstation, multi-task, meet production deadlines, be organized, detail orientated, dedication, problem solving and teamwork.
Fitter/Fabricator - 1st shift

Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together according to blueprints, BOM, written, and verbal instructions.
Checks parts for accuracy, clearance and fit.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for final welding, MIG.
Select equipment and plan layout of assembly for welding.
