POSITION OBJECTIVE: Using TurboFab welding procedures, this position must be capable of performing to the welding requirements specified for acceptable welds. NATURE AND SCOPE: The use of all available welding processes such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, flux cored arc and stud welding. Perform setup incidental for welding of pipe material. Weld all gauges and thickness of pipe materials where welded area may be subject to extreme stress and where care must be taken to prevent leaks and cracks. Weld flat, vertical or overhead welds in difficult positions and areas of difficult access. Preheat piping materials as may be necessary in order to minimize quality problems. Perform surface preparations of pipe materials such as cleaning, sanding, grinding and some assembly of parts, as well as, clean welds including the cutting and repairing of unacceptable welds. Must also perform arc gouging. Perform tack-welding functions as required. Welds shall be welded to ASME Section IX and ANSI/ASME B31.3 code unless otherwise specified. Must weld any size pipe, as well as, do structural welding, as needed utilizing the same welding procedures. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1.Comply with all of TurboFab's Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, Regulations and Guidelines. 2.Must keep all areas clean and orderly; and comply with TurboFab's housekeeping procedures. 3.Check own work for conformance to welding procedure and specifications. 4.Use all necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform assigned work. 5.Ensure that the welding procedures have been followed and quality has not been compromised. 6.Clean welds including the cutting and repairing of unacceptable welds. 7.Qualified to fully understand and adjust welding machine settings as required by welding procedure. 8.Must exceed production and quality standards and requirements. 9.Train other less experienced welders, as needed. 10.Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, jib and overhead cranes to move and position work pieces KNOWLEDGE: * This position is for well-experienced employees with three or more years of experience and requires minimal supervision. * Pass and maintain all required welding qualification tests. * Fully able to read or understand welding procedures. * Must be able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds. * Must exhibit the skills and willingness to perform assigned tasks in a fully competent manner. * Qualified to weld and pass performance test on Heliarc (Tig) 2"; 4" stick (Tig); 4" Flux Core (Semi auto gun Feeds); 6" submerged arc (Tig Bead & Hot-pass, Flux Core filler, Fill &Cap); Mig, Bead root, and Hot-pass; plus any other new processes established. * Qualified to visually inspect their welds for acceptability. * Must have full understanding of welding symbols as per AWS. * Must be available to work 1st shift or 2nd shift. * Ability to work overtime to support production demands Total Base Pay Range: 28.29 - 42.43 USD Hourly Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position. Maintenance of Appropriate Learning Environment: * Instructors conduct monthly classroom and laboratory inspections, noting and addressing any physical facility maintenance needs and the general cleanliness and attractiveness of the are * You will monitor working condition of training aids and discuss this with phase instructor and report non-working equipment to Lead Instructor/Director of Training. * You will assist classroom instructors in the repair and maintenance of training aids as necessary, without minimizing the instructor's responsibility for training aid maintenance * You will facilitate maintenance for campus facilities, using available resources. * You may be asked to repair tools/equipment not directly associated with a particular class Special Student Assistance: * Instructors should be available to help to students needing short term tutoring * In cases where it is identified that a student needs more extensive tutor attention, you will consult with the Lead Instructor/Director of Training. Safety Program: * Instructors may assist the Lead Instructor/Director of Training in the development and implementation of a safety program. * You will monitor the safety program in classroom and laboratory areas, and remind students and instructors of all safety requirements, and request that the program be follow * You will report any repeated infractions of the safety requirements of the School to the Lead Instructor/Director of Training Peer Review and Feedback: * You will monitor each instructor and assistant instructor monthly in their respective classroom/laboratory settings and complete a feedback form of noted observations. * You will provide any appropriate positive or negative feedback for the instructor's review, with recommendations for improvement in areas of need. Time Commitment: * The is position may require work on evenings and weekends in order to meet business need Curriculum Development: * Instructors assist the Lead Instructor/Director of Training with curriculum development as necessary, including topic research, text material acquisition, lesson plan development, test writing, etc. Personnel Issues: * You will refer all personnel issues to the Lead Instructor/Director of Training, such as requests for vacation, changes in scheduling, questions about salary and benefits, etc Student Issues: * Instructors work with students to resolve any concerns they may have, or when necessary, direct them to the party best suited to assist them. Leadership: * Instructors must be willing to assume the duties of the Lead Instructor/Director of Training to assure continuity in his/her absence during vacations, etc. Required Knowledge, Education and Experience: The successful applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED, and the minimum required years of field experience, dependent upon the region. POSITION OBJECTIVE: Using TurboFab welding procedures, this position must be capable of performing to the welding requirements specified for acceptable welds. Must be proficient in the welding of pipe assemblies, within protected and open areas. NATURE AND SCOPE: The use of all available welding processes such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, flux cored arc and stud welding. Perform setup incidental for welding of pipe material. Weld all gauges and thickness of pipe materials where welded area may be subject to extreme stress and where care must be taken to prevent leaks and cracks. Weld flat, vertical or overhead welds in difficult positions and areas of difficult access. Preheat piping materials as may be necessary in order to minimize quality problems. Perform surface preparations of pipe materials such as cleaning, sanding, grinding and some assembly of parts, as well as, clean welds including the cutting and repairing of unacceptable welds. Must also perform arc gouging. Perform tack-welding functions as required. Welds shall be welded to ASME Section IX and ANSI/ASME B31.3 code unless otherwise specified.
