About the Role: UPS Industrial Services is in search of an industrial Pipefitter/Welder Foreman in Chalmette, LA. The successful candidate will be capable of reading and understanding P&ID's and isometric drawings. This position directs and supervises one or multiple foremen. The Foreman will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe manner. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring employees comply with established safety policies, procedures as well as practicing safe work habits.
This is a local maintenance project and does not pay per-diem so the ideal candidate must live within 50 miles of Chalmette, LA. The shifts are 5x8's Monday - Friday.

Qualifications and Experience:

Structural Fitter Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* A Fitter is responsible for the layout and assembly of fabricated parts in accordance with shop drawings using AISC and AWS standards.
* Lays out, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products in the shop, according to blueprint and layout specifications, preparatory to welding or riveting.
* Locates and marks centerline and reference points onto floor or face block and transposes them to work piece.
* Moves parts into position, manually or by hoist/overhead crane. Aligns parts and make ready for final assembly.
