This process involves the production welding of various gauges and types of metals to produce parts per drawings and Simpson specifications. This shift is eligible for a $1.00 shift differential. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time) Set up the welding machine, gather work, read prints, stage work, weld parts. Comprehend and apply written and / or verbal instructions. Produce Quality parts in a safe manner. Communicate with coworkers and leadership. Operate other production machinery with training as directed. (80%) Use both manual and powered hand tools. (5%) Place finished product in tri-walls or cartons, apply labels as needed. (5%) Read tape measure to 1/32” tolerance, use protractor to measure angles. (5%) Keep area clean. Shift: Mon-Thu 3:30am-2am (Some overtime may be required on Friday) Pay: $17-20 DOE (Plus shift differential) Responsibilities: Can complete all periodic machine as assigned by the supervisor. Can accurately interpret the blueprint, understand weld symbols, and can follow the production traveler. Able to apply this knowledge to the task being performed. Able to properly set up tig or mig machines; ensuring that all machine parameters are properly adjusted prior to beginning weld operations. Able to weld cold roll steel (CRS), hot rolled, stainless steel and aluminum assemblies and sub-assemblies according to the print specifications. Able to set up and run production within the time limits developed on the traveler. Can point out errors on the traveler, prints, or weld fixtures to the supervisor. Able to perform quality checks according to the print. Accurately completes all documentation associated with the job prior to moving parts to the next operation. Maintain good housekeeping standards. Is a good team member by meeting all safety requirements, attendance requirements and follows the company rules and regulations. Performs other tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor or management. Advises supervisors immediately on all problems encountered and not resolved. Physical Requirements: Able to handle parts up to 35 pounds. Perform other tasks, within reasonable exertion limits, to assist other shop as required. Stand for long periods of time. Capable of safely operating a pallet jack. May be asked to perform other tasks within reasonable exertion limits to assist other shop personnel in special circumstances. Minimum Position Requirements: High school education desired, but not mandatory. Must be thoroughly familiar with the various welding techniques and the checking of proper equipment operation.
