JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Weld plastic parts, creating full sealing welds while meeting production quotas
* Maintain a clean, safe work area.
* Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability
* Must read and understand layouts, job packets and blueprints for the parts being welded (includes Geometric Tolerancing)
* Monitor inventory levels and ensure steps are taken to avoid lack of inventory
* Measure parts during production to ensure parts match blueprints. This may involve the use of comparator, calipers, gages and related test instruments
* Perform necessary side operations as required (i.e., deburring, PFA tube bending).
* Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality and productivity goals
* Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential Qualifications:
Education/Certifications
* High School diploma, or equivalent
* Plastic Welding experience is preferred.
Note: A completed promotional checklist is required to promote to the next level along with required time in grade.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess certifications in AWS D1.1 and D1.3 Structural Welding Code and demonstrate proficiency in the 3G (Vertical) position. This role involves welding, cutting, and fabricating metal components while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding and fabrication tasks using MIG welding techniques in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately construct and assemble components.
Execute welding operations in the 3G vertical position and ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 standards.
Inspect and maintain welding equipment, ensuring all tools are in safe working condition.

Read all weld symbols on a blueprint
Differentiate between channel, angle, flat bar, square tube, pipe etc.
Operating Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment; reading job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
Pass basic plate weld test (visual and bend) within specified time requirements, of weld processes used
G.M.A.W. - Mild steel: 1G, 2G and 3G position
S.A.W. - Sub arc: 1G position
Setting stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
Performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces

Operating any equipment needed to perform job including overhead cranes & forklifts.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is very loud where ear protection is necessary.

Insight Global is seeing a Welder (Plastic Parts) to join one of our manufacturing clients local to Kamas, Utah. As a Plastic Parts Welder, you will be responsible for welding plastic parts to create full sealing welds while meeting production quotas. You will maintain a clean and safe work area, perform daily maintenance of machines as required, and keep your supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond your operator ability. You must read and understand layouts, job packets, and blueprints for the parts being welded, including Geometric Tolerancing. Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring steps are taken to avoid lack of inventory will be part of your duties. You will measure parts during production to ensure they match blueprints, which may involve the use of comparators, calipers, gauges, and related test instruments. Additionally, you will perform necessary side operations such as deburring and PFA tube bending.
The shift expectation for this role is 6am-2pm Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities:
• Receive instructions, prints, sketches, and work orders.
• Read and interpret blueprints and plan the fitting operation.

Who You Are
The FCAW Arc Welder 1G/3G constructs, fits, and welds components using drawings and pre-cut parts. You must be capable of reading drawings, weld symbols, and weld procedures. These must be assembled and welded per stringent quality standards and meet all specified codes. The use of all basic steel fabrication tools is needed and expected.
Responsibilities
Prepare posts, frames, rails, or assembles for welding
Verify all dimensions with the approved shop drawings
Verify welding is in accordance with the specific codes and weld procedures
Adjust welding equipment as needed
Make fixtures as necessary to improve productivity
Make backing bars if needed
Perform welds as specified and directed by your supervisor
Clean and prepare finished products for inspection
Keep your personal tools and assigned tools and equipment in proper working order
Communicate with your supervisor
Work must be completed in a timely manner consistent with the best in the industry
Requirements
