POSITION DOES REQUIRE LOCATION TO OUR COTTAGE GROVE, WI OR ALBUQUERQUE, NM LOCATION WITHIN 60 TO 120 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT. Telecommunication Tower Field Welder -Level 1 will learn and be trained perform a wide variety of field specific job duties. We travel throughout the US and although the travel is extensive, we look to schedule employees for 2-3 weeks in the field at a time. Time off is backlogged after each deployment. Employees wanting greater pay have the option for longer assignments. All welders must be able to perform welding while in a fall protection harness, in rain, in wind, extreme heat, and extreme cold. Welding is not performed under ideal conditions. Welding "out of position" requires welders to complete welds with both hands and with items blocking your vision. A WELDER MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO CLIMB TO HEIGHTS OF 500' TO COMPLETE WELDING TASKS. A welder must be able to lift more than 50 lbs., and have the ability to travel extensively out of state for extended periods of time, including overnight and weekends. TowerMRL provides any additional training and certifications, base pay (including travel time), individual hotel rooms and per diem pay for incidentals for overnight work days. All new employees will undergo a full tower and rescue training prior to first deployment. Field Welders have opportunity for extensive overtime and room for advancement. A typical work week will either be 5 days on with weekends off or 10 days on with 4 days off. and have the ability to travel extensively out of state for extended periods of time, including overnight and weekends. Welders-MIG-TIG
Welder Job 41 miles from Gary
The Welder has primary responsibility is TIG and MIG welding of aluminum and steel (also, stainless steel) parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
MIG and TIG welding, including the following:
Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols).
Inspect welds for accuracy.
Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting
Steel/aluminum parts.
Change wire, welding, as needed.
Change gas tanks, as needed
Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location.
Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
Operate fork lift, if required and trained.
Performs first-piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by standards.
Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.
Perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
6 months-5 years of experience working with MIG and TIG welding.
Position requires good mathematical ability and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Position requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures.
