Minimum required qualifications include: High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2-4 years of welding experience in a heavy plate manufacturing or industrial environment. Ability to perform and pass FCAW weld tests in 2G and 3G positions is required. Demonstrated proficiency with FCAW and GTAW on carbon and stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documentation. Working knowledge of AWS standards and industry best practices. Additional desirable qualifications: Previous certification to ASME Section IX and/or AWS D1.1/D1.6. Experience in nuclear or high-spec industrial fabrication environments. Execute welding operations in all required positions, ensuring high-quality welds that meet visual and X-ray inspection standards. Use tools of measurement and layout techniques to confirm part dimensions and tolerances. Layout, tack weld, heat-bend, clamp, grind, and bolt components to ensure accurate preparation and alignment prior to welding. Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding process to avoid material distortion or overheating. Visually inspect welds for defects, ensuring adherence to AWS and Holtec quality standards. Operate a range of welding equipment (manual, semi-automatic, and automatic), including GTAW, FCAW, SAW, and plasma arc. Safely handle materials and parts using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with housekeeping and safety standards. *Must pass pre-employment weld tests administered in accordance with Holtec's WPS requirements. May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends, or travel based on production needs.
