They provide extensive expertise in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance, and spares support. Their in-house engineering capabilities include design, customization, installation, flight-testing, certification, technical support, maintenance, training, and the supply of spares for both civil and military applications.
The Aircraft Mechanical Fitter will assist in the movement, line, and base maintenance of the UK Military Flying Training System (rotary wing) H135/H145 fleet. This is a non-certifying role.
Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations. They will accomplish maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer. Their work must uphold high standards to ensure the continued safe operation of aircraft. They will complete maintenance tasks, including those related to airframe structures, power plants, mechanical systems, and electrical systems, in accordance with written instructions provided by the OEM. Furthermore, they will conduct off-aircraft technical work in workshops when necessary, including mechanical, power plant, component, and composite repairs. The post holder will also assist in the day-to-day operations of the aircraft hangar, including responsibilities for aircraft movement and general housekeeping tasks.
Knowledge and Skills Required: The post holder must possess a thorough understanding of engine and airframe systems, as well as specialized test equipment used for engine and airframe systems. They are required to have current knowledge of flight and airport operations, aircraft line maintenance, and aircraft base maintenance. In addition, it would be advantageous for the post holder to have an understanding of UK Military Aviation and the UK Military Flying Training System, along with familiarity with CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
Education, Qualifications, and Training: Must have completed an apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or a related discipline. Additionally, experience with H135/H145 helicopters would be beneficial.
Experience Required: The successful candidate must have experience in base maintenance, as well as flight operations and line maintenance. It would also be desirable for them to have experience working with products from leading helicopter manufacturers and a background in military aviation.
