This position is responsible for lying out, fitting, and welding fabricated components to assemble structural forms, such as frames or cabinets according to job specifications. This position selects equipment, plans layout, assembly, welds, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assemble and weld cabinets, roof hatches, louvers, frames, tops and bottoms per job specifications. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting Assemble thin metal structures and large frame structures by use of a welder. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools. Move assembled product to next production area in order to complete finished product per job specification. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality. Maintain full working knowledge of all processes. Ensure a clean and organized work environment. Adhere to all company standards and policies. Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
