Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
* Own the design process from end-to-end, from user research and concepts exploration to design reviews, delivery, and usability testing.
* Collaborate closely with product manager, engineer, and technical writer to build intuitive, accessible, and innovative products that delight millions of users.
* Help define product strategy that impacts product roadmaps and business goals. Work on solutions for some of the most complex design and technical problems we are tackling at AWS.
* Create user-centered designs and advocate for customers by understanding business requirements, customer's needs, and technical feasibilities.
* Quickly create and iterate on user flows, wireframes, and high fidelity prototypes based on users' feedback to continuously raise the bar for quality. Present and playback findings and designs to stakeholders and leadership.
* Talk with customers and work with partner teams on collecting qualitative and quantitative data to make informed design decisions at the product level, and continuously align with various stakeholders.
* Collect metrics after product launch to evaluate designs and make informed improvements on user experience.

The Web Strategy Intern with the Virginia Department of Social Services will provide students an opportunity to combine their academic studies with on-the-job training and experience while completing their education. The internship program is designed around a project-based assignment, which will support the mission of the agency and the career goals and interest of the intern.
The Office of Trauma and Resilience Policy (OTRP) Web Strategy Intern will report to the OTRP Division Director and gain project based or work experience by:
Implementing the web content strategy plan that has been developed for the VA HEALS microsite.
Developing communications strategies and marketing campaigns for the updated Virginia HEALS website and the content and resources for trauma-informed service delivery within it.
This position will also have the opportunity to learn from and work alongside the team to develop and inform trauma-informed and hope-centered policy and practice; and other duties as assigned that may enhance the learning experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Rising senior or graduate student enrolled in an accredited university or college in good academic standing pursuing a major in Marketing/Communications or a related area.
GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Knowledge of core functional areas related to a marketing or human services degree.
Ability to work the entire duration of the internship program, May 19, 2025 - August 08, 2025.
Experience working with website content management systems such as WordPress or TerminalFour.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Adobe.
Strong business writing and composition skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
