Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer with a strong technical background in automation systems, specifically related to the automotive industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering technical solutions, guiding clients through automation processes, and ensuring the efficient implementation of automotive technologies. This role requires deep technical expertise in automation, along with the ability to collaborate closely with both engineering teams and customers to drive product success. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and support automation solutions for the automotive industry, including but not limited to assembly lines, robotics, and manufacturing systems. Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and develop customized automation solutions that optimize productivity and ensure quality. Provide technical expertise in the selection, integration, and configuration of automation equipment, control systems, and software within automotive manufacturing environments. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation systems, working closely with both internal teams and clients to ensure solutions are quickly deployed. Conduct system testing and validation, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards and regulations. Lead technical discussions and training sessions with customers, providing guidance on best practices, system maintenance, and future upgrades. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on system performance and customer requirements for continuous improvement. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in automotive automation and integrate them into solutions as appropriate. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on the automotive industry. Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems, robotics, and industrial networks. Experience with automotive manufacturing systems such as assembly line automation, material handling, robotic arms, or vision systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or C++ for control systems. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols like Ethernet/IP, Profinet, or DeviceNet. Ability to analyze technical issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Willingness to travel to customer sites for project implementations, troubleshooting, and training. *Must be able to travel around 25% (overnight travel) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with simulation tools or 3D modeling software for automation system design. Knowledge of automotive industry standards such as ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949. Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT integration and smart manufacturing systems.
