Description The Raw Material Planner is an active member of the Supply Chain Planning department. The function requires strong interaction skills with the following functional groups: Product Development, Medicinal Chemistry, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, and Facility Management. The Raw Material Planner is responsible for the overall raw materials planning for internal and external manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate will plan, schedule, and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle. Experience Bachelor's degree in business, quality, supply chain, or industrial engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience Experience with Quality and ERP systems a plus Experience using MS applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project) Experience within the pharmaceutical and/or medical products industries preferred Responsibilities Plan, manage, and maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials using a deep working understanding of plant operational requirements and supplier constraints Determine material requirements from the manufacturing production schedules, BOMs, safety stocks, engineering, validation, and process development requirements Determine safety stock levels based on leadership guidance, usage history, BOM, yields, supplier lead times and reliability, QA release rates, and other pertinent information Create and maintain planning BOMs in collaboration with Manufacturing and PD Generate purchase requisitions for the procurement of raw materials through approved/qualified suppliers Collaborate with Buyers to understand order confirmations, monitor delivery dates, and expedite POs, when necessary Participate in Production meetings and support Tech Transfer teams as needed Prepare raw material forecasts to be provided to suppliers Proactively communicate with internal customers and CMOs in the event of a supply disruption. In this role, you will interact with lab personnel, learn directly from IT technical and business analysis staff, and leverage our unique business practices while taking on various assignments.
