Summary of Position The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including the supervision of Warehouse Associates engaged in the shipping and receiving of audio-visual equipment, recording capture devices, event supplies, and courseware. This role involves managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Warehouse Manager is expected to be a working manager, with most of the time spent working with the team members. The Warehouse Manager will implement best practices for efficient logistics processes, train and mentor team members, and collaborate with other departments to meet operational goals. Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a focus on safety and efficiency are essential. This position is key to ensuring that all equipment and supplies are prepared and delivered on time, contributing to the success of events, home recordings, internal meetings, and other SANS initiatives. This is a full-time role located at the Beltsville warehouse. Key Responsibilities · Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment. Prioritize and assign daily work tasks to Warehouse Associates. · Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment while ensuring efficiency and accuracy. · Inventory Control: Develop and implement inventory management practices to maintain optimal stock levels and accuracy, including regular cycle counts and audits. Prevent stock-outs while minimizing inventory carrying costs. · Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. · Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, conduct regular safety training and maintain a safe work environment. · Equipment Management: Monitor the maintenance and operation of equipment, coordinating repairs and replacements as needed. · Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators to assess warehouse performance, providing regular reports to senior management. · Facility Liaison: Manage the relationship with the landlord and associated vendors, and ensure the space remains safe and functions well. Ensure the building has the necessary services to be efficient and effective. · Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and other departments to facilitate the timely patching and updating of hardware and software, ensuring that all equipment meets operational standards. · Customer Service: Address any issues related to shipping, receiving, or inventory discrepancies, working to resolve them promptly and effectively. · Other duties as assigned.
