Essential Responsibilities:
Follow written work instructions, processes, and procedures accurately.
Perform visual inspections and basic measurements of parts after assembly steps.
Conduct functional tests using various equipment (e.g., electrical, helium, and leak tests) to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Read and interpret dimensional measurements using tools like calipers and scales.
Complete required dimensional training and demonstrate proficiency.
Be proficient in assembly processes, including cutting, stripping, and crimping wires.
Operate test equipment and handle hazardous materials safely.
Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, and learn to use complex tools and equipment as needed.
Obtain and maintain high reliability solder certification, solder inspection certification, and Class I and II weld inspection certification.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent assembly experience

POSITION/TITLE: Straw Machine Operator WORK LOCATION: Jacksonville, FL POSITION REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor WORK TYPE: On site JOB SUMMARY: A Straw Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of straw machine line(s), quality checks, packing and troubleshooting of manufacturing machine(s) that produce plastic straw products. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform timely checks to ensure that only quality product is manufactured.
Maintains established cycle settings on assigned machines to ensure production quantity
Stops production in the event inferior product is being produced.
Perform all assigned quality tests to measure the quality of the product being made (i.e. straw length, diameter testing, color testing and straightness of product). This requires frequent fingering and handling of the product to inspect for defects.
Check order to ensure correct product, boxes, and cartons are being used for scheduled job.
Comply with all safety rules, polices, procedures and practices to include performing lock-out/tag-out of production equipment when required.
Diagnose and determine cause for machine malfunctions along with making operator troubleshoot to assigned machines.
Immediately respond to any defective goods.
Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
Fill out labor sheets at end of shift noting production and downtime using the company computer.
Ability to work independently and function as a team member.
Ability to follow directives from the leadership team, managers and supervisors, in ensuring productivity and target levels are sustained.

Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, actively participate in identifying and correcting opportunities to improve processes including participation in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, the creation and maintenance of preventative maintenance standards, the writing of One Point Lessons, and participation in continuous improvement methodology events
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S methodology to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area, maintaining audit-ready status at all times
Actively participate in Pillar activities (i.e. Quality, Focused Improvement, Safety, etc.) including but not limited to observations, inspections, and recommendations.
Works diligently to achieve line efficiency goals
Assist, train, and coach peer, employees,
Supports plant production needs and priorities to achieve plant goals
Facilitate, attend and participate in team meetings and programs

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High School education or equivalent required
Achieve and maintain required certifications
1-3 years related work experience desired
Blow molding or plastics extrusion experience is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to pass the tests required for this position
Proficiency in MS Office Excel and basic PC skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven decision-making ability
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Ability to learn all functions of a job within a reasonable amount of time
Ability to read and understand written instructions and to keep accurate written records
Ability to work various hours and shifts
Able to work overtime when required and schedule flexibility
Materials and Equipment Directly Used:
Various Filling, Packaging and Palletizing machines and equipment to include hand tools, compactors, and various cleaning machines
Office machinery including computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.
Software including Microsoft Office including Outlook
Industrial power equipment (Forklift, scissor, pallet jack, etc.)

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee will lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Working Environment Work is performed throughout the facility. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and sanitary footwear.
