S/he performs duties under the direction of the Dining Services Director, to assure that quality food service is provided to meet the needs of the residents.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Advises supervisor when supplies diminish for reorder
Communicates effectively with supervisor and kitchen staff
Takes food and beverage orders from residents and serves meals on a timely basis that are both presentable and appetizing in appearance.
Sets up and delivers meal trays and food carts to the dining room as instructed.
Handles requests from residents who require assistance with meal selection or have specific needs.
Serves well-presented meals on a timely basis
Sets up dining room for the next scheduled meal.
Performs other general server duties as assigned.
Assists in inventorying supplies.
Obtains or replenishes necessary dining room supplies before the next scheduled meal.
Checks room service trays before distribution.
Follows safety regulations and precautions at all times.
Follows established Infection Control procedures when performing daily tasks.
Ensures that all food service areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are properly maintained.
Reports all hazardous conditions and equipment to your supervisor.
Reports all accidents to the Dining Services Director or the Executive Director.
Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties
Cleans tables, chairs, refrigerators and freezers, etc.
Carries soiled dishes, cups, glasses, and utensils to proper storage areas.
Keeps work areas clean, dry, and free of food, beverages, etc.
Returns used food trays from food carts, dining room, etc., and delivers to the dishwashing area.
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous dining room and server experience.

We are looking for a candidate responsible for serving tables in the a la carte dining room, catering to all members and guests' needs according to established rules and etiquette.

Job Overview:
Servers work closely with busser/food runners, bartenders, and the culinary team to provide members and guests with an enjoyable dining experience. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help UMCC maintain a great experience for our members and guest.
Responsibility:
Setup and prepare dining rooms and banquet rooms for regular service and events.
Takes orders, and serves food and beverage professionally and efficiently to Members and their guests.
Understands ALL menus and is able to take orders and make suggestions.
Able to follow up with proper entering into a point-of-sale system.
Assists other servers with table preparation for all food coming out.
Assists with clearing and resetting tables.
Prepares for coffee and dessert.
Maintains a clean, orderly appearance of the restaurant service area and follows all proper sanitation guidelines.
Exhibits strong food knowledge-knows menu descriptions and can identify dishes.
Develop the knowledge of Member's names and preferences to enhance the personalization of service.
Other duties include responsibilities of side work, service station maintenance and working as a team to ensure the excellence of the overall dining experience for our Members and Guests.
Requirements:
ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate.
Able to work flexible hours.
Responsible, dependable, organized and punctual.
Strong communication skills.
Positive attitude.
Knowledge of service etiquette and protocol.
The ability to climb stairs and lift up to 35 pounds daily is required.
Working various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
Must be able to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
