Our goal is to transport any passenger - no matter what disabilities or challenges they may face. We take great pride in transporting our passengers to their desired destination. EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride. Position Summary: Our Helpers ride along and partner with our Drivers to ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive travel experience for all passengers, particularly individuals that are wheelchair or stretcher bound. Essential Functions: Assist loading and unloading of passengers. Assure each wheelchair/stretcher is properly secured using 4-point tie downs and is in a locked, stable position. Ensure the safety of passengers by helping them with seatbelts and other safety devices. Provide information regarding schedules, stops, and routes to passengers as needed. Handle special requests and aid passengers with disabilities or those requiring additional support. Monitor passenger behavior to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Communicate with drivers and Site Supervisor to coordinate efficient operations. Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations effectively, following established protocols. Provide excellent customer service, addressing passenger concerns and questions politely and effectively. Ensure all necessary equipment for passenger assistance is available and in good working order, i.e. safety straps, seatbelts, wheelchair/stretcher securement devices. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on job-specific knowledge and skills. Collaborate with other team members to improve the overall passenger experience. Other duties as assigned.
