Machine Learning Intern
Role Summary:
The perception and machine learning team is tasked to apply machine learning to the automotive industry. Applications include autonomous driving, manufacturing, material design, etc. The team develops state of the art AI solutions to solve complex and challenging problems by leveraging the latest techniques in machine learning on large data sets. At ICC, you will be involved in developing modern methods in the field of sensor data processing to enable safe and robust automated driving in any scenario. During this internship, you will be supporting a team of AI researchers and engineers to find suitable learning methods for robust perception.
Role Responsibilities
* Driving data pre-processing including checking labels, formatting, etc.
* Support project team in building data pipelines for training deep neural networks.
* Benchmarking and reporting of various neural network models performance.
* Research into suitable new network architectures to for time series prediction, and anomalies detection.
* Research into suitable new network architectures to improve the perception of the environment with a focus on optical sensors.
* Research on supervised and unsupervised learning methods to estimate road participants' depth, motion, and velocity.
* Research on various neural networks for the interpretation of camera images (object detection, panoptic segmentation) and trajectory/motion planning.
* Fusion of different neural networks to use shared resources to decrease memory and computation footprint.
Qualifications
* Must be enrolled at a University/College or Graduation date must be within the last six months.
* Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
* Strong Python programming skills.
* Good experience using Linux.
* Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
* Good knowledge of image processing and machine learning.
* Independent work, initiative, motivation, ability to work in a team.

* Take ownership of the technical development (including thermal management, mechanical design, virtual development, electrical integration) and validation of novel battery pack and module concepts - from the concept phase to hardware prototypes including testing and vehicle integration - ensuring specified project timelines and milestones.
* Assess and mitigate risks associated with battery pack design, including safety and regulatory compliance.
* Oversee and support virtual development (CAE, CAD), prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes to ensure design intent and quality standards.
* Coordinate and participate/contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, specifications, and reports.
* Manage contractors supporting in the projects, including responsibility on assignment and confirmation of performance.
* Define, develop and independently manage innovative R&D projects with national partners (industry and academia) and internal stakeholders with focus on novel EV battery pack and module concepts.
* Screen, identify and evaluate cutting edge technologies in the North American market (National Laboratories, Universities, Start-Ups, local and global companies) with the focus on EV battery pack and module applications (e.g. new materials, joining techniques, manufacturing processes, cooling concepts…).
* Responsible of handling all necessary administrative topics for projects with external US partners (Start-ups, Companies, National Laboratories, Universities, …), as NDA's, joint development contracts, budget planning & controlling, Service-Level- Agreement (SLA) with the corresponding financing BMW department.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.
* Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, materials science, or similar

The Accounts Payable/Receivable position at Volvo Cars Walnut Creek is a full-time, individual contributor role in the business office. Responsible for entire A/P process from receipt of invoice to its payment, generating A/R statements for our dealerships, and generating associated journal entries. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation for this position is $25 to $29 per hour, paid semi-monthly. Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable will encompass the processing of all accounts payable transactions including bills, returns, and credit card charges ensuring accuracy of each bill and proper classification as expense or capitalizable item in accordance with our chart of accounts.
Ability to process invoices and payments with high level of accuracy.
Reconciles vendor statements and responds to vendor questions in timely manner. Builds relationships and credibility with the vendors.
May assist with reconciliation of monthly travel credit card statements.
Prepares daily cash sheet
Assists in General Ledger maintenance and reclasses.
Assists with new vendor set up.
Supports the annual 1099 process.
Responsible for generating A/R statements for charges paid by the corporate office on behalf of the dealerships, gathering necessary support for those charges, and answering related dealership inquiries.
Ensures that necessary controls are in place to safeguard assets
Assists in training and supervising office staff
Ensures that annual external audit requirements are met
Maintains effective employee relations
Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
Participates in required training
Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
Complies with Company policies and procedures
Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable required
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of accounting software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience with payroll processing is a plus

This position performs maintenance, inspections, and tire pressure checks to customer vehicles as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with the Dealership's and factory guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Completes oil and filter service in fewer than 45 mins:
Lube oil and filter
Complete inspection
Pod the car for flashes
Battery inspection with print out
Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts, billing out parts.
Examines assigned vehicle using current inspection process to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Documents all work performed.
Participates in needed training programs, schools, and events.
Keeps current on assigned training.
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to Service Manager.
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies Service Manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keeps shop area neat and clean.
Maintains all Dealership-owned tools and manuals and returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as Bureau of Automotive Repair rules and regulations, hazardous waste disposal, etc.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any safety issues immediately to Service Manager.
When there is no lube work, does the following:
Empties trash cans.
Cleans mop buckets.
Empties waist oil containers.
Empties waist oil filter cans.
Asks Service Technicians what trash can be thrown away.
Takes old Batteries to Parts Department.
Mops tech bays.
Keeps parking lot in order.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1 to 3 years' experience
Must be able to pass background check.
Must have good driving record.
Must have driver's license.
Must have basic knowledge of tools.
Must have basic knowledge of cars and maintenance.
Must be willing to learn.
Physical Demands:
