Video Production Specialist (Contract)
Video Editor Job 16 miles from Wallington
About Us:
We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.
We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.
Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).
About The Role:
Notion is seeking a Video Production Specialist (Contract) to support our in-house video team with both production management and hands-on creative execution. You'll collaborate closely with our Creative Lead (Video) and Creative Operations Manager to drive projects from concept to delivery. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves-whether it's coordinating logistics, jumping behind the camera, or cutting an edit together on a tight turnaround. With experience in the SaaS space, you'll be comfortable producing everything from live-action shoots and motion graphics to product demos and UI walkthroughs. If you thrive on bringing both organizational excellence and creative problem-solving to video storytelling, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a contractor role with a 3-month term (potential to extend), typically requiring 40 hours/week. This role will require 2-3 in-office days in either of our San Francisco or New York City offices. Occasional domestic or international travel may be required for productions.
What You'll Achieve:
Support end-to-end project management of multiple video productions, ensuring successful delivery against timelines, budgets, and creative objectives
Provide hands-on creative support-from developing shot lists and supporting film days to editing rough cuts and sourcing music tracks
Partner with internal stakeholders to shape video concepts, translating business goals into compelling visual narratives.
Manage relationships with freelancers, vendors, and creative partners while ensuring alignment with project goals
Drive team alignment through clear communication rhythms-from running efficient production meetings to maintaining clear documentation and project visibility with collaborators
Manage robust feedback processes across stakeholders-establishing clear review milestones, and gathering and synthesizing stakeholder input to keep projects moving efficiently.
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
5-8 years of experience in video production at an agency or in-house environment
Industry expertise: Proven SaaS expertise, producing high-quality product demos, customer stories, UI walkthroughs, 2D animation, and motion graphics-with a proven track record of making complex products accessible and engaging
Project mastery: Deep understanding of video production workflows, with proven ability to take ambiguous direction and independently determine project scope, required resources, and execution strategy
Creative versatility: Hands-on experience with video production and post-production, able to jump in on everything from shot planning to editing to keep projects flowing
Team player: Able to balance creative vision with business needs, collaborating across teams to build trust and keep projects moving.
Cool under pressure: Composed under tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and last-minute changes-quick to adapt and find solutions on the fly.
Detail champion: Highly attentive to the small things that make a big impact, ensuring every frame, cut, and transition is polished while maintaining focus on the bigger picture.
Nice to Haves:
Knowledge of Notion a huge plus, especially as a production tool - understanding our product is key to understanding how to tell stories about it
Experience as a content creator or videographer-comfortable operating cameras, capturing audio, and editing content independently when needed
Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects to assist with editing where needed
Experience with live events a plus, but not required
We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers. If you're excited about a role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every bullet point listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. If you're a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.
