The Medication Historian assists with compiling an accurate and complete patient medication history. Interviews patients and uses a standardized tool to record all patient medication information including prescribed medications, over-the-counter medications, dietary and herbal supplements. Works with patients/family members to maintain updated medication lists, communicates pertinent findings to appropriate care team members, and identifies and facilitates correction of medication discrepancies.
What we are looking for:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent

Experience: 1-3 years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
Effective Communication Skills
Ability to interact efficiently with patients and families while also demonstrating empathy and sensitivity when gathering required medication information
Aptitude in mathematical manipulations (ratio, proportions, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions)
What you will do:
Gathers information about the patient's medications from family or directly from the patient in the Emergency Room or inpatient settings.
Compiles a complete list of patient's medications, including name, dosage, frequency, route and compliance history, OTC, and herbal supplements.
Collects information on patient's drug allergies and reactions.
Enters obtained information into appropriate application/system.
Communicates with physician offices, retail pharmacies, or other sources to verify medications as needed.
Compares medication list to indications and medical history if available.
Identify medication discrepancies and facilitate correction or escalation to pharmacists for follow-up, if needed.
Demonstrates responsibility and acts independently, in areas not requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist/nurse/prescriber.

Responsibilities
Performs and records patients vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations and pain rating.
Documents clinical data as assigned, in a computer or manual system.
Performs clinical procedures, such as specimen collection, venipuncture, EKG, application of sequential compression sleeves, post-mortem care, falls prevention, maintenance of skin integrity and capillary blood glucose monitoring.
Sets up for selected procedures and assists RNs accordingly.
Assists patient with activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing and/or toileting.

for senior nursing students starting June 2, 2025
This 10-week program, consisting of 36 clinical hours, offers individual and group support in cultivating professional and educational growth and helping students bridge the academic-practice gap in their knowledge, skills and professional practice.
UNIT SUMMARY: The Stroke Medical Unit is a 40-bed unit that specializes in the care of geriatric patients and offers an interdisciplinary approach to respiratory care. The Stroke Medical Unit is a designated stroke unit. Staff members must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes. Special training on how to care for patients on vents and how to respond to different alarms on the unit is required.
JOB SUMMARY: Performs routine patient care procedures as determined by the plan of care and directed by the Registered Nurse. With the RN, gathers data relevant to the individual needs of the patient and/or family and immediately reports to the Registered Nurse. Demonstrates professionalism, integrity and accountability in the Student Nurse role. Exhibits an understanding and demonstration of the Patient Care Values in interactions with patients, families and co-workers.

Students will also be given the opportunity to complete in-takes for new clients and psychosocial assessments. Students will be provided with weekly group and individual supervision to provide support and improve their skills.
Students will provide psychotherapy, administer psychosocial assessments, and psychiatric evaluations, and develop and run groups. Students will also work collaboratively with the clients to develop individual treatment plans and will write end-of-treatment summaries for each of the clients after the group, describing whether the client has reached their goals. Who we are looking for:
ASCO's Finance department is seeking a Business Analyst Intern. You will have the opportunity to gather and analyze data, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement and test process improvements. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in finance process improvement and exposure to Oracle ERP and EPM systems.

Internship activities include:
Assist in analyzing existing finance processes including identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies and/or how the process may be improved by leveraging Oracle or other in-house tools
Gather and organize data related to process flows
Create detailed process documentation and flowcharts for finance processes
Assist in the creation of standard tests to be used for Oracle release testing
Collaborate with various stakeholders in the finance department to gather insight and feedback on the current processes and/or issues with financial systems
Assist in developing and delivering training materials for new processes centered on Oracle ERP and EPM
Other reporting and administrative activities as needed
Required qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate BA/BS degree program, or graduate program, or recently graduated from a 4-year degree program.
Candidates must be at least a junior or entering their junior year of college at the start of the internship.
Pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, information technology or related field
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (365 preferred)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility to adapt to changing needs
Solid organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
Willingness to enhance skills
Duration: 10 weeks during the summer - June 9, 2025, to August 15, 2025. This internship is 37.5 hours per week.
Compensation: This summer internship position is paid at a rate of $20/hour for actual hours worked. Additionally, ASCO will provide parking or a metro subsidy.
Location: This internship is based in Alexandria, VA and will require working onsite the majority of the time with some offsite work flexibility. Candidates should reside in the D.C. metro area or be able to relocate at their own expense. If you are not able to work at ASCO Headquarters, please do not apply.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position typically will be up to one year in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study.
2. Participates on work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.
3. Performs research and prepares reports on assigned topics and /or projects when required.
4. Works as a member of a team providing service to internal and external customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with course work related to the internship or general knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a college degree.
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers may be necessary, depending on assignment.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
