Job Title: Orthopedic Technician / Durable Medical Equipment Fitter (DME) Reports To: DME and Ortho Tech Manager The Durable Medical Equipment Fitter is responsible for anything related to and concerning DME within University Orthopedics (UOI), including but not limited to fitting, refitting, custom measurement, education, billing, collection of co-ins/Deductible and patient satisfaction. The ideal candidate will order and follow up on DME orders. They will communicate with the patient care staff, patients and families regarding durable medical equipment issues. The individual will maintain the databases and files related to the durable medical equipment orders. The work in this position contributes to patient's overall successful interaction within the office. Exceptional people skills are needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides direct patient care by fitting and instructing DME products to patients pre-operatively, post-operatively, or during a scheduled office visit. Educate patients on insurance plans and provisions, financial responsibility, and collection of patient portion. Job Title : Associate Athletic Trainer Reports to: Manager of Athletic Training Services Secondary Oversite : DME/OrthoTech Manager, Team Physician, and School Athletics Director The Associate Athletic Trainer is responsible for offering athletic training services a local high school in Rhode Island. The Associate Athletic Trainer will act as a representative of University Orthopedics while providing daily treatments and coverage of athletic games and practices for the school. The Associate Athletic Trainer will also work 10 hours per week in the University Orthopedics DME/Orthopedic Technician department, responsible for fitting, refitting, custom measurement, education, billing, collection of co-ins/deductible, inventory management and patient satisfaction. May be responsible for assisting the physicians with care and treatment with acute orthopedic injuries by applying/removing/reapplying casts/splints and wound care as needed. Essential Job Functions: School Responsibilities (30 hours/week) Act as a representative of University Orthopedics and the standards valued therein. Work with the athletic director to plans for providing athletic training coverage at interscholastic athletic events identified in Athletic Training Program Coverage Policy. Establish and maintain a budget for athletic training supplies/equipment Establish daily hours of operation for the athletic training facility. Develop comprehensive venue and condition specific emergency action plans. Establish a working relationship with a designated team physician and community physicians. Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Reports To: Diagnostic Imaging Manager Under the general supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor and/or Lead technologist, this position will perform X-Ray examination procedures requested by University Orthopedics (UOI) providers. Must have flexible availability to cover additional locations or shifts if needed. Essential Job Functions: Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions to the lead technologist. Properly Identify and prepare patients for radiologic procedures and performs x-ray exams following established protocols and procedures for patient care and safety. Accurately select the correct patient, anatomy, and protocols to complete exam. Confirm, schedule and log completed radiologic procedures in computer and site schedules. Job Title: Hand and Orthopedic Surgeon Location: Cranston, Cumberland, and East Providence RI University Orthopedics (UOI) is looking for a Hand and Orthopedic Surgeon to join our growing musculoskeletal provider team. The position involves joining a cohesive 6 physician group covering Roger Williams and Fatima hospitals as well as integrating with the wider 69 physician provider UOI community. Patients will be seen during patient office hours at our Cranston and Cumberland, RI locations. Surgical procedures will be performed at Roger Williams and Fatima hospitals, and at the University Orthopedics East Bay Surgery Center. On-call responsibilities for General Orthopedics at both hospitals are requirements of the position.
