+ Acts in consultative manner with the sales with the intent of getting the most competitive offer to help the sales develop the most competitive proposal offer.
+ Proactively monitor the close ratio, participation and persistency results within their assigned regions.
+ Report results work closely with their sales representatives to develop an action plan to help increase results.
+ Investigates, analyzes and responds to complex internal or external underwriting inquiries and requests, coordinating with multiple internal departments as necessary.
+ Learns to underwrite pending files received for review and contestable claims files for underwriting.
+ Works with reinsurer on cases that require facultative review.
+ Provides training and mentoring to less experienced Underwriters.
+ Acts as the underwriting representative at producer VIP meetings for assigned territory.

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The role of the Underwriter II is to evaluate the credit risk against company standards and to determine the borrower's ability to repay a residential mortgage. What you will do
* Reviews the loan package received to ensure completeness verifying that all supporting documents are included to make a credit decision per established policies
* Identifies issues and recommends appropriate resolution within policy service level agreements
* Analyzes and determines the financial capacity of the borrower's ability to repay:
* Performs credit analysis, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, liquidity qualification and payment calculation spreads
* Reviews for stability of residency and employment
* Verifies income per established policy

The Commercial Lines Underwriter is a key player in maintaining the profitability and production objectives for a designated group of agencies. This role involves underwriting new commercial business, renewing policies and endorsing policy changes. Meet agency profitability and production objectives for an assigned group of agencies by underwriting new commercial business, renewal policies and policy endorsements.
Understand and evaluate exposures related to individual risks through continued mentoring involvement.
Integrate these functions within the workflow of a Commercial Underwriter.
Assist in the analysis of individual agency and book of business results to determine if any corrective actions are needed.
Support the Commercial Enterprise Division and the Regional Sales Manager in identifying corrective measures needed to assure an underwriting profit.
Help in establishing specific action plans where needed and assist in communicating these effectively with agents.
Assist the Regional Sales Manager in developing written premium goals at an agency and book of business level.
Support achievement of these goals by promoting the benefits of our product line to agencies by personal visits, regular telephone contact and appropriate promotional mailings.
Provide territory performance reports and action plans to leadership as needed.
Participate in agency meetings, events and with loss control representatives during service calls and prospect service.
Participate and/or lead practice group, coordinate and document meetings.
May maintain and develop customized reports for loss control representatives to share with accounts.
Communicate effectively with agencies in the development of underwriting and exposure information and supports attainment of written premium goals by providing exceptional service.
