The Department of Athletics Academic Services at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its DEGREE Program Tutor Instructional Student Assistant Pool.
We welcome applications from current CSUF students to provide tutoring to student-athletes in the DEGREE program. Tutoring will be provided with an emphasis in math, but also some science courses, including but not limited to: MATH110/MATH115 (College Algebra). Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to student-athletes in DEGREE. The DEGREE Lab is open Monday-Thursday, 9am-7pm. This position is between 6-10 hours/week. The DEGREE Lab offers Math tutoring Monday-Thursday.
This is a pool of DEGREE Program Math Tutors for the department to draw on as necessary.

Position Overview
Merdinian is seeking a dynamic and passionate Social Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year to mainly teach 6th and 7th grade students. Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Development
Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons aligned with grade-level standards and learning outcomes, focusing on ancient civilizations (6th grade) and medieval to early modern world history (7th grade).
Foster historical thinking skills such as inquiry, research, analysis, and interpretation.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies including discussion, project-based learning, role play, primary source analysis, and multimedia.
Integrate current events, civic education, and cultural awareness into instruction to connect historical content with the modern world.
Classroom & Student Management
Create and maintain a structured, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
Set and communicate clear academic and behavioral expectations.
Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, offering timely, constructive feedback.
Support differentiated learning to address a range of abilities and learning styles.
Student Engagement & Communication
Encourage student curiosity, debate, and thoughtful inquiry about global history, geography, culture, and government.
Develop students' written, oral, and visual communication skills through essays, presentations, and group work.
Communicate regularly with parents about academic progress, class activities, and behavioral expectations.
Serve as a role model who exemplifies Christian values and respect for diverse cultures and perspectives.
Collaboration & Professional Development
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support student learning and school-wide goals.
Participate in regular staff meetings, committees, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Background & Expertise
Bachelor's degree in History, Social Science, Political Science, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Valid teaching credential or equivalent teaching experience in middle school Social Studies.
Instructional & Classroom Management Skills
Deep knowledge of historical content and best practices for middle school instruction.
Proven ability to design creative and impactful lessons that build critical thinking and analytical skills.
Strong classroom management skills that promote discipline and a positive learning environment.
Communication & Collaboration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, and parents.
Enthusiastic about mentoring students and building relationships that foster academic and personal growth.
Faith & Mission Alignment
