Maintain accurate and complete student records. · Present subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunity and give relevant, application-based examples and learning opportunities. · Make purposeful and appropriate lesson plans which provide for effective teaching strategies and maximizes time on task. · Frequently use diagnostic assessment of student learning. · Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel. · Plan and facilitate class field trips or activities (as required). · Stay up-to-date on subject matter knowledge and learning theory. · Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to Learning · Ensure that the classroom is clean and safe. · Prepare required reports as requested by the school administration · Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures · Maintain discipline following the directions and disciplinary systems of the school · Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings, and professional development · Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs · Adhere to CCA school policies and procedures · Other duties as assigned by leadership or that are required to fulfill the obligations of the position.
