Educator Requirements:
Early Literacy Classroom Positions, K-3: Teachers must have current MA DESE certification in Elementary Education or other relevant areas including Reading Specialist, ELL, Special Education and/or Speech and Language. In addition to general Elementary Education certification, candidates will have specific teaching and professional development experience in the planning and instruction of explicit, systematic structured literacy for development of foundational literacy skills, including phonological awareness and sequential phonetic and morphological concepts. Experience with the UFLI Literacy Curriculum is highly preferred. Candidates will also need to be experienced in analyzing and using diagnostic literacy data, including the CORE Phonics Survey, to plan instruction in literacy skills for students, including those unique to multilingual students. Experience centering culturally and linguistically sustaining practices in the learning environment is essential. Candidates should also have experience working with diverse populations, including those for whom oral and written language development may be challenged by their learning profiles and/or by English language learning as a second language.

Reading Specialists will provide push-in small group instruction.
Salary: Teachers and Reading Specialists will be paid $53.00 per hour for 4.5 hours daily, which includes 30 minutes of prep time daily.

Orientation Meeting for Staff: Tentatively planned for Wednesday, June 25, 2024; Attendance at this three hour Orientation and Professional Development Day is required. Compensation at the rate of $50.00 per hour is provided for this day.
