Description of Service Opportunity: Tutors will: Deliver lessons and plan activities using provided 7th and 8th grade curriculum Create and foster relationships with students to help identify equitable needs and ensure each student is making progress through in-person learning. Facilitate twice weekly hour-long student driven discussions and activities to foster the use of academic and mathematical discourse. This will be done in an Upper School classroom setting. During this time students will work through practice problems or activities Facilitate and check-in with each student on their goal-setting and academic progress through the program. Maintain open communication with students and families as they progress through their learning Tutors will need access to their own device. Provide ongoing feedback and encouragement for students throughout sessions Manage a Google Classroom for your students Review student thinking and overall student comprehension to provide specific feedback.
