JOB GOAL:To provide all students a quality education and environment conducive to learning, regardless of their handicapping condition.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Structures a physical classroom environment conducive to learning.
2.Establishes efficient classroom management procedures.
3.Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior necessary for a positive teaching/learning atmosphere.
4.Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation.
5.Selects and provides a variety of planned learning experiences using a variety of media and methods in order to motivate students and best utilize available time for instruction.
6.Evaluates and records various aspects of students' progress and reports to parents as needed and required.
7.Maintains accurate, complete, and correct due process records as required by law.
8.Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students resolve learning problems.
9.Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
10.Attends and participates in faculty and other staff meetings.
11.Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities assigned.
12.Maintains professional competence through workshops, seminars, conferences, in-service, and/or advanced course work.
13.Adheres to professional code of ethics as established by Education Professional Standards Board.
14.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or the Director of Special Education.
