Job Details Summit School - Winston Salem, NC Part Time 4 Year Degree DayDescription The Triad Academy division of Summit School is dedicated to meeting the academic needs of bright students diagnosed with dyslexia or a related written language learning difference. This position involves responsibility for supporting teachers in delivering core content within an integrated, experientially based curriculum. Active collaboration with lead teachers and teaching assistants in the Summit Lower School is also required. Teaching assistants teach a section of Language Tutorial remediation, prepare materials for instruction, support classroom differentiation through small group support, draft weekly parent communication materials, assist with delivery of curriculum in the classroom, help maintain classroom organization, prepare student snacks, and serve in a supervisory capacity during recess and other times throughout the day. Qualifications Quality of mind, a passion for young children, and a commitment to the education of dyslexic students is essential. An understanding of best practices in the field of remediation of language based learning differences is strongly desired. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed an AOGPE Associate level training and practicum in the Orton-Gillingham approach to learning.
