Position Requirements
1 Completion of the high school diploma or equivalent. 2 Ability to complete and pass a district approved weight-endurance physical test. 3 One year experience in custodial or grounds maintenance work. 4 Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work; requirements for maintaining school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. 5 Able to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency. 6 Able to use basic tools for minor repairs. 7 Knowledge of operating heating and ventilating equipment. 8 Perform heavy physical labor, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. 9 Able to lift/carry and transport 10 to 60 pounds and on occasion 81 pounds. 10 Read and recognize cleaning chemical labels. 11 Properly select, mix and apply cleaning agents appropriate to the task. 12 Able to perform manual labor; follow verbal and written directions and work cooperatively with others.
