Spanish Analytic Linguists are responsible for monitoring, transcribing, translating, interpreting, and analyzing source material assisting law enforcement with their investigations into narco-trafficking, counterfeiting, terrorism, fraud and money laundering. The Spanish Analytic Linguist position offers $36.51 per hour, major medical insurance (pending eligibility), 401k retirement account, 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked (or as per local requirements), up to 10 paid vacation days, and 11 paid federal holidays.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Monitor: To listen to or read foreign language communications, then subsequently type summaries into the English language.
Transcribe: To render the spoken word of a language into the written form of the same language.
Translate: To render the spoken or written word of one language into the written form of another language.
Interpret: To translate orally either consecutively or simultaneously from source language to target language.
Analyze: To examine methodically and in detail the constitution of information for purposes of explanation and interpretation.
Requirements:
Clear, concise, effective written and spoken communication skills in English and Spanish
Ability to summarize and translate audio and text, including slang and colloquialisms, in a real time manner
Demonstrate prior interpreting and/or translating experience in a professional or personal setting
Adequately prioritize tasks while demonstrating attention to detail and organization skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, social media, text message terminology in English and Spanish
Typing abilities to exceed 40 words per minute
Capable of adapting well under pressure and functioning cohesively in a team environment
Availability to work a rotating schedule
Candidates must pass writing, reading, listening, and speaking language tests in English and Spanish or provide prior test results as required by contract
Availability to work full time locally and travel outside your area for extended periods a plus

The interpreter will also encourage independent socialization in the mainstream setting, participate in educational team meetings, including the multi-factored evaluation process and the development and review of progress on the individualized educational program, to provide goals and insight on the success of communication strategies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be qualified for this position, applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess:
* Associate's Degree or Equivalent from an accredited institution;

* Be aware of and able to support student's abilities, needs, services, and language use documented on the ETR and IEP;

Interpretive Planner

The Interpretive Planner is a dedicated member of the Cleveland Museum of Art's interpretation team, responsible for creating and implementing interpretive strategies to ignite connections between art and diverse audiences. In close collaboration with interpretation and curatorial colleagues, facilitates interpretive planning and develops interpretive materials, both analog and digital content, for exhibitions, gallery rotations, and the collection. S/he employs innovation and a collaborative approach to her/his work with an eye to inclusive and accessible interpretive content.
Responsibilities
Facilitates interpretive planning for select exhibitions, rotations, and gallery reinstallations, integrating innovative interpretation schemes into exhibition development and design, analyzing key messages and audience needs, and creating original ideas for unique interpretive elements.
Advance assigned interpretive projects from conception through prototyping to installation, through active collaboration with curatorial, design, exhibitions, digital & information technology, and other departments as needed.
Structure, write, and review interpretive texts, storyboards, scripts to ensure satisfactory level of readability, cultural sensitivity, and accessibility. Work closely with project editors to ensure appropriate communication strategies are employed.
Develop and produce interpretive content for digital platforms, such as ArtLens app and ArtLens Exhibition, installed interactives, exhibition audio guides and interpretive video projects. Participate in cross-departmental digital innovation team.
Develop and deliver presentations about exhibitions and related interpretive projects.
Actively build and maintain strong working relationships throughout the museum, including with the education, curatorial, design, exhibitions, publications, and research and evaluation teams, to achieve interpretive goals.
Partner with internal and external experts at the outset of each project to ensure inclusive access for people with disabilities, meeting or exceeding Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
Take the lead on specific visitor-centered projects as assigned.
Requirements
Master's degree in art history, museum studies, or a related field; art historical expertise in at least one major content area of the CMA's collection, as well as knowledge of current theory and practice in museum interpretation.
Three to five years of successful museum experience or relevant work in designing and planning experiences for audiences in informal creative learning environments, or in a field that engages diverse audiences with art, culture and creative expression.
Excellent understanding and proven experience in interpretation and implementation of visitor evaluation findings.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong research, writing and editing skills, particularly for visitor-friendly voice and tone.
Strong project management skills, including effective meeting facilitation, attention to detail, and management of multiple, complex simultaneously.
Comfort and confidence when speaking publicly.
