    Dr. Catherine Tamis-LeMonda at New York University invites applications for hourly part-time researchers to assist in video transcription and annotation. The projects aim to collect one-hour videos of mother-child interaction in the home environment, along with transcriptions of mother and child talk and annocation of obkect interaction, locomotion, facial emotion, and communication. The part-time researchers will be overseen by research staff in Dr. Tamis-LeMonda's lab. Transcription and annotation duties entail using specialized software to mark parent and child object interaction, locomotion, emotion, and communication events from home visit videos. Interested students could perform transcription and/or annotation duties depending on skillset. Positions require a 10-20 hour/week commitment - ideally in blocks of 3-4 hours. Pay starts at $18/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base rate for this position is $18-$22/hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be fully in-person. Qualifications include being an undergraduate student (sophomore or higher), 3.0 GPA, and experience or interest in working in social science research. For transcription and annotation, attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary. Fluency in English is required and fluency/proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
