The AFS Technician Trainee will assist in conducting comprehensive inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarms systems and sprinklers under the supervision of experienced technicians. Inspection & Testing:
Assist in the inspection and testing of fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, and notification devices, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations.
Participate in the inspection and testing of sprinkler systems, including valves, pumps, and sprinkler heads, documenting findings and reporting discrepancies.
Use specialized tools and equipment to conduct performance tests and troubleshoot system issues.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Support the maintenance and repair of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, including replacing components and making necessary adjustments to ensure systems operate efficiently.
Assist in diagnosing and repairing system malfunctions, under the guidance of senior technicians, ensuring systems are restored to full functionality.
Documentation & Reporting:
Complete inspection reports, detailing system status, deficiencies, and any corrective actions taken.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, maintenance activities, and repairs, ensuring documentation meets industry standards and company policies.
Training & Development:
Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills in fire protection systems, including manufacturer-specific training and certification courses.
Shadow senior technicians during complex inspections and repairs to gain practical experience and knowledge.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Ensure all work complies with applicable fire safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical installation, low voltage, and repair.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.

+ Sterilize equipment and instruments using all methods of sterilization and high-level disinfection and complete the appropriate documentation required for the sterilization procedure.
+ Assist in stocking and maintaining an adequate inventory of instruments, equipment and supplies.
+ Perform daily and monthly cleaning and documentation.
+ Provide ORs with equipment and instrumentation per their request.
+ Attend and achieve 100% attendance at all mandatory in-service programs, both departmental- and hospital-wide.

Compensation:
