Loved assisting customers with outfits , greeting customers and making them feel comfortable , confident and appreciative

Dealing with a manager with "KAREN" behavior and the are manager not handling the situation properly

I know the CEO 's name that is all. The leadership team should back their employees when they know something is not right.

Like I said I was straight out of high school the compensation was fine for me at that time. No clue what the industry average was

Pros of working at Torrid

It’s a great environment to be in if you’re surrounded by the right people.

Managers who are tired of doing their job and take it out on their workers and pin them against eachother.

What do you like best about Torrid's CEO and the leadership team?

They’re amazing. And keep everyone in loop of what’s going on unlike other company’s and jenuinly nice people to have a conversation with when you have the chance to meet them.

How would you improve Torrid's culture?

Making sure retail managers are actually doing their job and not forcing the people on their stores to do something they’re not getting paid for. Or making them do things that they know is illegal knowing they won’t say anything in fear of getting fired.

Pros of working at Torrid

I honestly enjoyed the because I was able to pay my bills and pay any necessities I needed for school and my personal needs. However, the job was temporary but it was manageable and easy.

Cons of working at Torrid

I very much didn't enjoy the nonflexible hours, because I was a part-time College student and I was unable to focus on school and work at the same time so I had to make few sacrifices.

Torrid Benefits

The perks of working at Torrid were that I had the advantage to use employee discount codes, free dental, and health insurance and I was able to learn new skills.

Pros of working at Torrid

Some coworkers were great to work with. Flexible schedule and days off when you need them. Can be a fun work environment. Great employee discount.

Some weeks had very low hours. Not much of a raise.

Do you get a lot of transgender shoppers? How do you deal with helping them out? When I first transitioned I shopped at torrid a lot and people treated me like I was radioactive. Associates wouldn't even look at me, even though I was really young. Now that I'm stealth its a totally different experience.

I had many transgender customers! Torrid has a zero-tolerance policy for your situation with the associates. At my store, customers are customers, and if you're transgender then you're just as welcome! We'll fit you for a bra if you'd like, allow you to try on the clothing, and help style you like we would anyone else! We even had a few crossdressers who would come in and identified as male, and they were just as welcome in our store! We allow anyone and everyone to shop.

How does a dude who loves curvy women get a job at such a heavenly place?

Torrid doesn't really hire male employees unless it's corporate! Just a little known fact!

What's the strangest experience you had with a customer?

There's so many of those. The customers were all very strange! It has to be a tie between a lady who sat on my counter and had me bring all of the items she was interested in to her, and a lady who undressed completely and had me walk into her fitting room to help her dress and fit a bra. I dealt with the nude customer often.
