The Supervisor, Drilling Engineering for Anschutz Exploration Corp (AEC) is responsible for supervising all drilling operations company wide. This position will include acting as a lead for less experienced drilling engineers, providing mentoring and coaching to develop and improve their technical and operational abilities. This position will include direct oversight & management of 1-3 drilling rigs with the expectation of safe, continuous improvement, reducing drilling durations and well costs. This position will report to the Drilling Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
Reviews and approves designs and procedures for drilling new wells, including directional planning, casing selection, drilling fluids, BHA and cement design, rig specifications, etc.
Supervises all phases of the drilling operations to ensure accuracy, adherence to state and Federal requirements, proper documentation, post drilling technical reviews, lessons learned, etc.
Ensures tracking and visibility to organization of performance vs offset / historical wells.
Supervisor of all drilling field staff & less experienced drilling engineers ensuring adherence to drilling program, proper daily reporting, and data entry.
Functional lead working with the asset teams to support planning/permitting and development needs. (Development & Exploration)
Provide leadership and oversight for cost estimating and budgeting (AFE Generation and Review)
Reviews post-analysis of drilling processes for benchmarking, and knowledge to improve the process for future wells.
Champion Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) for the team, ensuring the adherence to all AEC policies.
Drive and lead interaction with the regulatory groups to ensure proper drilling & post-drilling reporting.
Provide relief coverage for the Drilling Manager/Superintendent as needed.
Qualifications and Capabilities:
12+ years of related industry experience
Bachelor's degree in a strongly mathematical, engineering, or physics-oriented subject
Experience in fast paced unconventional Development Drilling Program
Experience in multiple unconventional basins.
Must have relevant operational field experience (DSM, Superintendent, Field Engineer, etc)
Track record that exhibits continuous drilling improvement (well durations & capital cost reductions)
Current and up to date software capability using office and collaborative applications.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills required.
Ability to work alone under own initiative, or in close collaboration with geoscientists, production engineers, completions engineers and other reservoir engineers as part of a team.
Ability to perform analysis, interpretation and problem solving at all levels of complexity with varying volumes of data.
Ability to work in and travel to AEC asset areas; position will require significant time in the field in the onboarding process and to Project Manage
Salary Range: $210,000 to $250,000 depending on experience.

Work Environment
This position requires the Driller to work outdoors for an entire tour work shift in all kinds of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. They will be exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the rig is located. Southern states generally experience hot summers where temperatures range from 80° to low 100° with high humidity; winters have temperatures that generally do not go below 20°. Northern states generally have hot summers with similar conditions and have cold, windy winters, with low temperatures that can be as cold as -40°.
The Driller must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. They must be able to work closely with others as they will work together in the confined area of the drilling rig and may choose to live together in crew quarters. They must be willing to work a hitch, which consists of 14 days on / 14 days off, working 12.5 hour shifts that can include days or nights and as well as weekends and holidays.

Summary/Primary Role:
This role involves mobilizing drilling equipment for various applications for commercial job sites, performing geothermal drilling methods, and installing test wells for feasibility studies with the Geothermal team. Expected Hours of Work:
An Employee is expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. MAIN FUNCTIONS:
The Rig Manager is responsible for every aspect of the rig operations, including set up, take down and moving, along with the safety of all crew members. The Rig Manager is responsible for daily paperwork and other matters of business pertaining to the Rig. The Rig Manager ensures that the rig operations comply with the environmental and government regulations as well as regulation the production and costs therein. The Rig Manager will need to be able to exhibit working knowledge of all parts on a Workover Rig and should be able to troubleshoot the mechanics of the rig and equipment on site.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Available to work beyond the traditional 8 hour work day; available to work Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, to meet operational needs. Well services work is generally performed during day-light hours, Monday through Friday, occasionally on Saturday and or Sunday. Certain operations cannot however be completed during a single daylight period and must be continued without interruption, over several consecutive days. Such operations are referred to as "24 hour operations," and require two or more shifts, crews, to operate the rig. Able to work at heights up to or greater than 50 feet.
* Dependability is imperative. Reporting for work at the prescribed location and time, dressed for deployment to work, is essential. Unauthorized absences will result in discipline up to and including employment termination.

About the Job:
The Longhole Driller position will report to the Longhole Supervisor and is responsible for safe and effective operation of longhole drills and following drilling plans to meet production goals. The schedule for this position is 14 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 14 days off.
Responsibilities:
Set-up and inspect equipment prior to operation. Thoroughly pre-shift equipment - check all fluids, fuel, engine oil, hydraulic oil etc., tires, steering, brakes etc. for all Mine equipment including; drills, scalers, man-lifts, loaders, haul trucks, excavators, bulldozers, water-trucks, and all other applicable mobile equipment.
Maintain safe working area through effective methods of work area inspections and safe work practices; inspection, mechanical & hand scaling, work area clean-up, etc.
Work with/or as Blaster to load and shoot longhole stopes, raises or UG faces.
Utilize in-house drilling equipment to drill planned and directed shot patterns.
Ability to operate multiple pieces of powered mining equipment such as rock drills, bolters, loaders, hauler trucks, support equipment, pumps, etc. safely and effectively.
Maintain berms and scale mine workings and high-walls to maintain acceptable ground control throughout mine to ensure safe access.
Sample drill cuttings as directed for lab analysis for ore grade control.
Examine materials, or products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
Clear and level benches as required.
Clean, adjust and maintain equipment, using hand tools if/as needed.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A DRILLER
As a Driller, you are essential to the success of each job. To prepare blast areas, you set up and operate drills and other related equipment. You monitor drill controls as well as the progress of the drilling operation to ensure that everything is working correctly. If there are any equipment, employee, or client issues, you report it to the Blaster in charge and/or the Location Manager. While ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment, you recommend measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and preventative maintenance. Your dedication to maintaining your skills, knowledge of equipment, and vehicle operation makes you a successful and valuable team player at Austin Powder.
QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 21+ years old
* Experience operating drills
* Drug-free workplace
* Must meet requirements of all state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor
* Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
* Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Class A CDL with a clean driving record is preferred, but not required. Mechanical ability and interest is a plus!

Job Description
As a Driller, you will be responsible for providing assistance to and working with drilling staff, senior technicians, engineers, surveyors, and construction managers. The Assistant Driller plays a vital role in collecting information in the field to better serve our clients.
