The Physical Therapist / PT is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes; providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Also, the Physical Therapist / PT will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patient's capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician. As well, the Physical Therapist / PT must set realistic and achievable goals for their patients, document and record the patient's condition, and educate patients and families in an appropriate physical therapy method.
Develops a plan of care for each physical therapy patient.
Provides skilled physical therapy services / interventions in accordance with physician orders.

Coordinates services in accordance with our payer contracts. Designs service provision to address the entire scope of care for our patients. Complete periodic observation sessions with residents in their continuity clinics and provide feedback. Administer a structured educational experience that residents report adheres to ACGME institutional and program specific requirements. The curriculum must be structured so behavioral health is integrated into the residents' total educational experience, to include the physical aspects of patient care. Delivers regularly scheduled didactics lectures as part of each programs' didactics curriculum.
Participate in the selection process of matching resident candidates to the assigned residency programs. Serve as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) for all residency training programs. Attend and actively participate in regularly scheduled faculty meetings, retreats, and development curriculum. Assist in create of faculty development curriculum as directed by the Program Director.

4. Coordinate with the Special Education Director to arrange with neighboring school districts for the
education of those handicapped students who cannot be served appropriately in the local district.
5. Assume responsibility for interpreting state and federal regulations relating to special education to
assure that district programs are in compliance.
6. Represent the district at SELPA Operation Committee meetings as an alternate when needed, as well as at other county or regional committee meetings as requested.
7. Maintain and disseminate, as appropriate, confidential records involving special education students,
as well as evaluate records of students new to the district.
8. Coordinate the on-going revision of referral and evaluation procedures, including forms utilized for
communication with parents.
9. Evaluate and interpret all testing and make recommendations for placement both in special education
classes and regular classes, if appropriate.
10. May assist in completing state and local forms regarding special education including the J-50
finance
forms, pupil counts, waivers, and the year-end report.
11. May establish eligibility of students for special education transportation and work with the
12. transportation supervisor to provide appropriate services.
13. Conduct follow-up calls on special education placement to facilitate home-school relationship and
school adjustment of child.
14. Participate in I.E.P. meetings as necessary, to meet the state requirement for placement, goal-setting,
on-going evaluation, and dismissal of all students in Special Education classes.
15. Work together with district psychologist and with teachers to implement individual prescriptive
teaching and other remediation designed to help overcome the learning and behavior problems of
students.
16. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding students being considered for retention, acceleration,
or a difference class level.
17. Work closely with Special Education teachers in program development and evaluation.
19. Apprise teachers of new techniques and materials and their use with individual students.
20. Work and confer with outside agencies such as Mental Health, Vocational Rehabilitation, California
Children's Services, Imperial Valley College, Regional Center, Head Start, and Work Training Center
to ensure appropriate provision of services for special education students.
21. Assist in organizing in-service activities regarding special education for certificated and classified
employees.
22. Participate in faculty meetings, parent organization meetings, in-service training, and other
community and school groups.
24. Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services.

Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Special Services.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Credential: Credential authorizing services in speech, language and hearing.
Education: Master's degree in education preferred.
Experience: Wide range of contact with exceptional children of all ages; successful experience as a speech therapist or special education.

Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations and other sounds, near/far visual acuity/visual accommodation.
