The Children's COP SUD Therapist is responsible for maintaining a caseload consisting of children, adolescents and families, with a primary substance abuse and/or mental health diagnosis. The therapist is responsible for collaborating with professional team members both from TGC as well as other providers or systems to integrate service delivery. The COP SUD therapist is required to conduct intake assessments, to maintain the case record in a timely fashion, to complete authorizations with various funding sources in a timely manner as required, and to conduct appropriate treatment services based on medical necessity. Full-time staff must work 37.5 hours per week, including a minimum of 4 hours per week after 5:00 pm. Specific Responsibilities include: 1. Must meet all of the contract requirements of the funding sources and/or agency, including maintaining CAADC/Development Plan Certification and State licensure. 2. Primary responsibility is to participate in the delivery of clinical services, including intake evaluations, substance abuse screenings, assessments, and direct treatment for children, adolescents and families. 3. Conduct Intake Assessments, including all necessary opening paperwork (Psychosocial Assessment, financial and demographic forms, etc.) 4. Gather and integrate information from all available sources, including client self-reports, reports from family members, guardian(s) and probation officer, documented medical, treatment history, etc.; 5. Assist with the development of comprehensive Person-Centered Treatment Planning with consumers and other members of the treatment team (consistent with Integrated Biopsychosocial Assessment and all other clinical assessments); 6. Provide face-to-face clinical interventions, in the office, to each assigned consumer at least monthly. 7. Provide individual, family and group therapy. 8. Conduct crisis planning with client. 9. Provide parent education, coaching and training. 10. Provide referrals for services and community resources as needed. 11. Work collaboratively with others in relation to the child and family including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, Wraparound facilitators, school personnel and other family service or support people. 12. Advocate on behalf of the child and family to assist them in meeting their needs and reaching their desired level of self-sufficiency. 13. Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation as needed. 14. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultations. 15. Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Guidance Center. 16. Work with other COP and Guidance Center staff in addressing unit and agency issues and student supervision. 17. Follow The Guidance Center's professional code of ethics. 18. Represent The Guidance Center in the community in a professional manner. 19. Maintain appropriate state licensure of certifications. 20. Complete 24 hours of training per calendar year specific to children or adolescents. 21. Develop schedule with supervisor and work at least 4 hours each week after 5:00. 22. Full-time staff must provide 23 hours of billable service per week. 23. Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure. 24. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP) within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. Beyond the training period, all state licensure must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action. Must obtain the Child Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire. Possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. One year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness and substance use disorders. This position requires the formulation of an individualized treatment plan which will be used in conjunction with the entire primary care team to develop a holistic care strategy for each client. * Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor * Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures Requirements and Duties: * Organizing Workload includes prioritizing work assignments in a manner consistent with consumer and program needs while making the most efficient use of available work time. * Discuss continuing care needs with multidisciplinary care team. * Provide psychotherapeutic support/counseling to client according to DSM 5 guidelines * Performs other job-related duties as directed by Program Director. * Ensures the proper handling and compliance of confidential medical records (EMR) * Maintains record request for Medical records from other sources. * Follow-up planning for clients with post-acute transitional concerns * Document assessment findings in SW outpatient assessment or SW progress notes within EMR * Communicate material findings and tentative transition plan with care team (nurse, physician, case management etc.) via EMR or face to face * Coordinate care with health plans care management staff * Person Centered Planning includes completion of the person-centered planning document that provides an overview of the person and details his/her hopes, dreams and desires. * Individual Plan of Service includes completion of treatment goals, measurable objectives, assigned staff and applicable treatment codes. * Consent and Enrollment includes completion of required consent and enrollment documentation. * Documentation includes complete, accurate and timely completion of clinical and statistical records of staff activities. * Documents every consumer and collateral contact in compliance with agency policy. * Complete various administrative forms to assure accurate data collection for billing, fee setting, the management information system and other purposes in accordance with agency policy. As a Limited License Psychologist, you will treat a wide variety of mental health conditions that reflect the needs of our diverse patient population. This position is in an outpatient clinical setting where you will interact directly with patients. You will quickly build rapport with patients and coordinate care with internal and external providers by forming excellent provider-patient alliances.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results
