Reviewing Submissions for ICW Events, and On-Site Support for Invention Convention U.S. Nationals
Reviewing submissions for ICW events (Invention Convention Michigan, Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, Independent Inventors Program) for various criteria including scoring submissions for originality, selecting candidates for interviews, gathering information for sponsors and partner judging, and collecting data for awards presentations.
Provide on-site support for the week of Invention Convention U.S. Nationals (June 2-6). Duties can and will include assembly of materials for participants, transport, and display of said materials, assisting with participant check-in, providing participants with information and wayfinding, assisting with judging finalization and award ceremony and script preparation.
Reviewing judge feedback for inventors.
Programming Assistance for Learning and Engagement Team
Provide the Learning and Engagement Team with programming assistance, which can include administrative duties, onsite assistance for professional development, developing educational resources, and special projects as needed.
Assist the Learning & Engagement team with special projects and events as needed.
Create and communicate work plans as needed through regular updates and reports.

The DEIA Internship Program Overview and Time Commitment
The DEIA Internship Program's mission is to offer opportunities in museum work to emerging professionals who identify with historically marginalized groups and to invite our interns to think outside the box and explore their careers in new ways.
Participants will engage in the program through various bi-weekly professional development workshops hosted on our Dearborn campus. It is mandatory for participants to attend, and applicants should work with their leadership to ensure proper attendance. Workshops occur on Wednesdays throughout the program.

Our part-time Security Officers provide a safe and secure environment for staff, students and visitors of The Henry Ford, the Henry Ford Academy, and the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. This includes responding to accidents and incidents as they occur as well as protecting artifacts and the grounds of The Henry Ford. You would be responsible for watching for and reporting irregularities, such as missing artifacts and fire hazards.
Please note, this position is for the Midnight shift, 12:00-8:00AM.
Essential Responsibilities
Patrols museum and village or assigned areas at the Ford Rouge Factory Tour checking all interior and exterior doors and perimeter fence lines, to guard against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Patrol buildings and grounds; examine doors, windows, and gates to assure that they are secure.
Makes sure building mechanics are operating properly - such as heat in the winter and AC in the summer, leaking pipes, safety hazards and unlocked doors and windows and activity of a suspicious nature. Occasionally provides transportation to medical facilities for staff.
Responds to accidents and incidents occurring on the premises quickly and promptly, provides appropriate assistance including basic First Aid/CPR/AED for staff, students, and visitors when necessary and accurately completes appropriate reports.
Provides assistance, gives direction and answers questions for staff, students and visitors in a hospitable manner.
Observes and makes recommendations to improve security, fire prevention and/or safety.
Will be assigned to operate security console and dispatch, monitor CCTV's and have basic knowledge of all fire and intrusion alarm panels. Basic understanding of computers, and appropriate radio communication is required. Multi - tasking is required.
Acts as a team player and provides expertise within the team and with other teams as appropriate. Good communications skills required to solve a variety of issues that may arise in security or other departments.

In this role, you will oversee the operation, inspection, and both minor and major repairs, as well as the regular maintenance program for our fleet of land vehicles dating from 1914 to 1953.
Essential Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance and Inspections:
Responsible for following the established preventive maintenance program. Performs program of routine inspection, lubrication and repair of collection use vehicles.

The Institutional Advancement Intern can expect to work hybrid. This internship provides a well-rounded opportunity for you to gain in-depth work experience in a major American history museum with a specific focus on philanthropy tactics. Your work will support growth and stewardship strategies for donor societies, such as Carver Carson (Edible Education) and Drivers Club, as well as mid-range societies and corporate and foundation giving.
You will also contribute to the collaborative success of The Henry Ford's invention education competition (Invention Convention Worldwide) as well as other special summer programs. We are excited to begin hiring our food services team for our largest sit-down restaurant, Taste of History in Greenfield Village. As a member of this dynamic team, you would be responsible for serving food to guests in a prompt and courteous manner while providing an outstanding guest experience. This is the venue where we host signature events, such as Supper with Santa, Fairytale Feast, and Salute to America.
Essential Responsibilities
Performs opening and closing tasks as assigned
Handles cash accurately and efficiently
Possesses knowledge of menu descriptions and can effectively communicate them to guests
Ensures an outstanding guest experience
Interacts and communicates with guests and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner
Assumes responsibility for the cleanliness of assigned areas in keeping with the Department of Health & Sanitation guidelines
Adheres to department rules and policies at all times
Acts as a team player
Serves food in a variety of daily food services operations
Performs other activities as necessary

We are searching for an engaging, courteous Barista. In this role, you will greet customers, answer questions, take orders, accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentations.
Essential Responsibilities
Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments
Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers
Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods
Cleaning and restocking work and dining area and empty trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils
Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality
Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter
Working as part of a fun, high-energy team
Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls
Your Qualifications
Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service
Barista experience preferred
Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early morning weekends, and holidays.
Special Skills
Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
