The AWS Data Center Community (DCC) organization is looking for an individual with proven and tested leadership skills to join the Facility Operation Center (FOC) team. The FOC launched as a singular support team to proactively monitor the life-safety systems and the infrastructure equipment alarms that provides power and cooling to the platform on a global 24x7x365 basis. We support Data Center Engineer Operations teams who are responsible for the operation of infrastructure equipment.
The FOC Technical Specialist facilitates and deep dives customer impacting events, locates systemic infrastructure issues using data driven analysis to drive solutions and serves as a subject matter expert on department processes. The FOC Technical Specialist is responsible for the design, creation, and launch of new learning content, creating and maintaining all FOC documentation globally and managing the technical training of the team across the regions. You will play a significant role in the career development of the global FOC team by mentoring and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members. You are responsible for leading team members across regions and functional areas to accomplish organizational goals.You will guide the team on improving operational efficiency for all services through the identification and development of SLAs, metrics, workflows, procedures tools and documentation. You will lead data analysis and engagement of partner teams to drive corrective actions by utilizing processes, such as After Action Reports (AAR), Correction of Errors (COE), AWS Customer Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Lessons Learned, and Global Action Items. Key job responsibilities
* Ability to perform all Lead FOC Engineer responsibilities, acting as a backup for the Lead.
* Provides support to team during Critical Site (CSE) and Large Scale (LSE) events
* Deep dives post event data and reviews all After Action Reports (AAR) to ensure standards are met.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Technical Advisor supports the NNSA Office of Nuclear Forensics Detonation Assessment Program (DAP), assisting the Federal Program Manager with program planning, implementation, and interagency coordination. This role provides technical expertise in post-detonation nuclear forensics, including NUDET modeling, prompt sensors, radiochemistry, and debris analysis, and exercise planning and coordination. Responsibilities include supporting program logistics, training, operations, and policy development, as well as reviewing research initiatives and integrating new technologies. The Technical Advisor drafts and reviews plans, procedures, and program documentation while coordinating with DoD, FBI, DHS, DOS, DOE/NNSA offices, National Laboratories, academia, and industry. Work is on-site in Washington, DC, with situational telework possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support the Federal Program Manager with tracking the program's work and progress.
Provide subject matter expertise and support to the development and review of policy, technical, planning, operational and other documents related to the program and the interagency nuclear forensics mission.
Critically review, assess and report on technical efforts relating to the program, including reports and deliverables from the National Laboratories, proposed and ongoing technical capability improvements and Research & Development, gap analyses, and scientific studies and reports.
Organize, facilitate, participate in, and contribute to program, office and interagency nuclear forensics meetings, forums, working groups, conferences and program reviews involving subject matter experts from other DOE/NNSA offices, the National Laboratories, other Departments and Agencies, and international partners.
Coordinate as needed with other DOE/NNSA offices, other federal Departments and Agencies, DOE's National Laboratories, and other stakeholders as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location.
