PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Is accountable for implementing the station technical programs such as Dosimetry, Instrumentation, respiratory programs, self assessment and CAP processes, procedure implementation, and other programmatic processes as assigned. Implements the long term planning processes of Exelon to insure programs are up to date from a regulatory and a technical perspective.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Attend meetings representing Radiation Protection with regards to programmatic issues with NOS, regulators, and station CAP.
Coordinate procedure changes to programs with the site and fleet and write transition plans to insure appropriate communications and change management.
Tracking and monitoring RP metrics for technical programs and generate corrective actions to insure programs are free of regulatory risk.
Work with fleet peers to benchmark and improve programs to industry best performance including cost, execution, and standardization.
Perform assessments of programs to identify problems and systematically correct
Implement corrective actions, self assessments, and benchmarking into departmental and self learning objectives and develop training material to be used to improve department performance.
Perform in field observations of work and insure that appropriate standards of performance are met
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. Degree in Health Physics (or related field) and 1 year related work experience in radiation protection or
Associate Degree in Health Physics (or related science) and 3 years related experience in radiation protection or
High school diploma with ANSI RP technician qualifications, or at least 5 years of RP-related experience in at a nuclear power facility
Excellent computer skills. Capability to learn passport, excel, access, Canberra system software, and other software as needed to manage and implement programs

Description
The Technical Advisor supports the NNSA Office of Nuclear Forensics Detonation Assessment Program (DAP), assisting the Federal Program Manager with program planning, implementation, and interagency coordination. This role provides technical expertise in post-detonation nuclear forensics, including NUDET modeling, prompt sensors, radiochemistry, and debris analysis, and exercise planning and coordination. Responsibilities include supporting program logistics, training, operations, and policy development, as well as reviewing research initiatives and integrating new technologies. The Technical Advisor drafts and reviews plans, procedures, and program documentation while coordinating with DoD, FBI, DHS, DOS, DOE/NNSA offices, National Laboratories, academia, and industry. This position requires innovative problem-solving to support national decision-making, law enforcement, and public safety following a nuclear detonation. Work is on-site in Washington, DC, with situational telework possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support the Federal Program Manager with tracking the program's work and progress.
Provide subject matter expertise and support to the development and review of policy, technical, planning, operational and other documents related to the program and the interagency nuclear forensics mission.
Critically review, assess and report on technical efforts relating to the program, including reports and deliverables from the National Laboratories, proposed and ongoing technical capability improvements and Research & Development, gap analyses, and scientific studies and reports.
Organize, facilitate, participate in, and contribute to program, office and interagency nuclear forensics meetings, forums, working groups, conferences and program reviews involving subject matter experts from other DOE/NNSA offices, the National Laboratories, other Departments and Agencies, and international partners.
Coordinate as needed with other DOE/NNSA offices, other federal Departments and Agencies, DOE's National Laboratories, and other stakeholders as needed.
Develop and present technical and programmatic briefings to stakeholders, colleagues and senior leaders, making clear and convincing presentations sufficient to clarify and justify recommendations.
Support planning and execution of drills, training, and exercises. Advise in the development of operational objectives and evaluation criteria. Assist in identifying and tracking after‑action and corrective action reports.
The position requires regular attendance in the office, although occasional telework may be possible.
The position requires occasional domestic and international travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
DOE Q clearance or equivalent, and ability to obtain and SCI clearance.
Minimum of a master's degree in nuclear engineering or the physical sciences.
Knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices of nuclear science or engineering sufficient to synthesize complex technical and operational information to form assessments relevant to the program.
Knowledge of the technical and operational aspects of the NNSA and interagency technical nuclear forensics capabilities sufficient to serve as an expert.
Knowledge of project management methods, including familiarity with the federal budget process, strategic planning, requirements determinations, and project milestone development and tracking.
Ability to communicate orally, provide expert advice, and make clear and convincing presentations to stakeholders, colleagues, and senior leaders.
Ability to write and revise policy documents, training and operational plans, and requirements for technical and non-technical aspects of a complex multi-stakeholder, multi-facility program.
Experience in coordinating program activities and goals with members of government agencies and with scientists in academia and public and private laboratories.
Ability to work well in a rapidly changing and often uncertain environment.
Demonstrated good judgment, professionalism, and collaboration skills, and the ability to successfully work with a diverse group of stakeholders to develop consensus.
Maintenance of an official passport and current appropriate immunizations.

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. PSI seeks a Senior SBCC Advisor to lead PSI's work under the USAID Sustaining Epidemic Control through Unified Prevention (SECURE) Activity, a five-year initiative focused on providing person-centered, evidence-based HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services across Lesotho. The project aims to address and close critical HIV prevention and treatment gaps, working in collaboration with the Government of Lesotho and leveraging past successes to advance a sustainable, equitable response to the epidemic. This person will oversee the scale-up of SBCC services across the SECURE consortium.
The Senior Advisor will be responsible for leading successful implementation of SBCC workstreams throughout the project lifecycle from start-up to close-out. Accountable for delivery of all aspects of SBCC activities and oversight and supervision of project staff. Lead departmental/functional strategy development and work planning and supervise the team responsible for implementation. Serve as a subject matter expert internally and represent the project externally with donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Develop departmental/functional strategic priorities in collaboration with SECURE senior management team. Develop and oversee workplans and budgets to execute strategic priorities.
Monitor deliverables and progress, course correcting when necessary. Drive the utilization of evidence-based tools, innovations and best-practices to improve the project's performance.
Develop and manage strategic partnerships with external stakeholders and partners. Ensure effective collaboration between stakeholders and partners. Represent SECURE at internal and external meetings, conferences, and donor meetings.
Support SBCC capacity building of staff and partners engaged in activities related to area of expertise.
Assist the CR or Project Director with other tasks and projects as necessary. Serve as member of the PSI/Lesotho leadership team collaborating closely with other senior staff to improve overall programmatic and operational performance.
Supervise and develop team members. Make recommendations concerning employment, termination, performance evaluations, salary actions, and other personnel actions. Set team and individual goals. **Qualifications**
**To be successful in this role, you will have:**
+ Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) experience or relevant experience
+ A Bachelor's degree or appropriate years of relevant experience (depending on LCAT)
+ Depending on the LCAT a professional certification may be required/preferred
+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust
+ Must be a United States Citizen
+ Microsoft Office skills
+ Must have ability to deploy to any location in zone 2 with a 24-48 hour notice
+ _Zone 2 includes Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming_
+ Must be comfortable and experienced using a Smart Phone
+ The ability to go on 6-12-month deployments at a minimum
+ Must have a sound technical knowledge base of discipline's standard concepts, principles and techniques
+ Must be able to work independently, in a team environment and under stressful conditions with tight deadlines

+ Knowledge of the FEMA Public Assistance Program/Policy
+ Trained in the PA delivery model preferred

Job Responsibilities:
The Radiation Oncology Technician Assistant assists in the planning procedures for initial patient set-up.
Facilitates the preparation of medical records and chart rounds while helping the nursing staff in clinics and provides assistance to Radiation Therapists and physicians during patient treatments.
Assists with patient positioning activities on the simulator and/or Computed Tomography (CT) machine; Assists in moving/positioning patients in preparation of delivery of radiation therapy.
Processes/develops X-ray and/or CT films for treatment planning; Process/develops portal verification films as required.
Fabricates Cerrobend blocks from X-ray films for radiation treatments, medical records and chart rounding preparations.
Prepares new patient therapy records; Pulls pertinent patient records, reports and films for review at weekly chart rounds.
Obtains vital signs and records results.
Assists nurses and physicians with patient examinations.
Maintains inventory of equipment and is responsible for transporting equipment to and from operating rooms and sterile processing.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements for Consideration:
Work Schedule: Day Shift Monday to Friday working 4 ten-hour shifts.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Preferred: previous hospital based clinical experience and strong interest in oncology or radiation
Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start
