Position Summary Performs advanced radiology or cardiovascular patient care activities and procedures for patients of varying ages under the indirect supervision of a registered technologist sonographer and completes all associated tasks and responsibilities necessary to manage patient care needs while patient is in areas such as Diagnostic Imaging or Heart and Vascular HVI for procedures. Assists in the development and the monitoring of department specific systems and in the coordination of activities that improve the quality of patient care. Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties: Environment Management - Completes cleaning tasks utilizing OSHA standards. Performs maintenance and or inventory of equipment according to unit department standards. Practices standard precautions while handling contaminated items. Maintains unit order and efficiency. Maintains appearance of patient care areas and public areas. Responsible for adhering to all radiation safety regulations as established by regulatory agencies. Orders and stocks supplies to meet the needs of the unit department Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock to eliminate outdated items. Maintains a sterile environment. Patient Care and Safety - Provides basic comfort, support and addresses safety needs of patients. Accepts verbal and or written assignments from registered technologist and seeks clarification and or assistance as necessary. Demonstrates proper responses to emergency situations. Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paper work as applicable. Greets patients, confirms their identification, performing the correct procedures as directed. Completely explains the procedure to the patient and family if present as directed. Performs visual preventative safety inspections. Completes warm-up procedures for each room equipment as assigned. Records quality control activities. Reports equipment conditions to Quality Control Materials Manager or appropriate personnel. Follows through on assignments to completion and or communicates to other staff members issues related to continuity of care. Clinical Skills - Performs duty job with appropriate level of independence, accuracy and efficiency Demonstrates computer skills necessary to perform unit department specific responsibilities Schedules patients and demonstrates proper phone etiquette. Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock to eliminate outdated items. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a technologist assistant as applicable to the assigned department . Provides patient care procedures as outlined in the competencies appropriate to the assigned department under the direction of registered technologist sonographer. Demonstrates skills to properly manipulate all respective fixed or mobile equipment conducive to providing for a safe environment for patients and employees. Assists in procedures to include but not limited to patient positioning, maneuvering of equipment, assisting in administering contrast, prepare room for procedure, documentation during procedures and scrub utilizing sterile techniques. The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above: Performs advanced patient care including but not limited to venipuncture and or IV starts as directed based on departmental needs. Discontinue lines as needed. As applicable, assists radiologist in performing biopsies and limited imaging as needed. Transport patients with a registered technologist. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Minimum Required Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent GED . Completion of the educational requirements additional formal education training; maximum supervision for initial competency; high degree associated risk factors; yearly competency evaluation and training.     Job Details SCRANTON - SCRANTON, PA Full Time $20.35 - $23.94 HourlyTransportation Technical Assistant Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Erie, Allentown, Scranton, Altoona, Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg, State College, and Williamsport to join the Construction Management Department as Transportation Construction Technical Assistants (TA-1 and TA-2) for highway construction projects. This position will be responsible for - The inspection of highways and bridges and documenting that they are being constructed in conformance with the plans and specifications. Inspecting and documenting the field activities performed by the contractor daily and act as a representative for the client. Communication between the inspection team, contractor, and client is required daily. Other tasks may include but not limited to: Project Site Activity (PSA) reports and electronic tablet and computer usage. Job Requirements: Minimum requirement for Technical Assistant (TA): High School Diploma (or equivalent). Ability to read, write, and do basic math computation. Additional requirements: Basic computer skills to use an electronic tablet and computer for reviewing construction drawings/specifications and completing project documentation are required. Navigate construction sites in different types of terrain and weather conditions. Work hours may include day and/or night shift work, and weekends, based on the type of operation taking place. Communication - Both verbal and writing skills are required. Candidates must also have their own vehicle and have a valid driver's license. Candidates will receive mileage reimbursement for duty-related driving. Pay Rate: $20.35 - $23.94 / hour Pay range depends on TA experience.     To support staff technologists and other departmental staff in the daily provision of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and CT services. Under the direct supervisor of the certified technologist at all times, assists and supports the provision of MRI and CT services to our patients. This position will cover evenings with day weekend coverage requirements. Responsibilities: * Meets patients as they arrive to department. Assists with paperwork preparation and documentation. Answers phone calls regarding scheduling, questions and patient history. * Escorts patients to dressing areas and assists the patient as needed. Conducts MRI screening according to established procedures to ensure safe scanning and entrance into the MRI scan room and provides completed screening form to technologist for review. Assists technologist in the preparation of oral contrast for patients and provides patient instructions as needed under the direction of the technologist in alignment with existing department guidelines. * Properly pads, positions, centers and aligns the patient and MRI coil or CT table for proper imaging of the body part according to established protocols under the technologist direction. * Performs telemetry monitoring during exam as necessary if applicable to the business unit, provides patient care support as needed. Provides discharge instructions as directed by the technologist. * Reports any equipment malfunctions to technologist and supervisor. Assists in the performance of QC functions including all daily and weekly QC testing according to departmental guidelines. * Transport patients to and from the unit when required. Clean and prepare exam room following established procedures. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * At least one-year of previous healthcare experience. * Medical terminology and recent medical/imaging office experience preferred. * IV insertion experience preferred.
