The Technical Assistant is responsible for the setup, operation, and shutdown of all tech for shows and events at The Rockwell. This person must be well versed in day-to-day venue operations and overall running of productions. Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Opening and closing of the venue for guests Setup of the booth and the space prior to events Operation of all equipment in the booth and around the venue including both lighting and sound before, during and after events. Set up and boot up the computer(s) used to control the lighting. Understanding of basic programming commands for QLab, Illuminair, microphones, projector, and sound board Facilitation of the light/audio check held before each performance. Attend technical rehearsals when needed. On performance days, the lightboard operator's call is usually 90 minutes prior to curtain time. Facilitation and participation in any strike following the closing of an event/performance. Keeping acts on track with timing and changeover of events. NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK Minuteman High School is looking to hire a Long-Term Sub Technical Assistant for our Health, Hospitality and Human Services Pathway (Early Education and Teaching, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts and Health Assisting). Minuteman technical assistants are responsible for assisting teachers with classroom instruction and in shop settings. Individuals applying for this position will work collaboratively with instructors across the Health, Hospitality and Human Services Pathway. They will participate effectively in school-wide department goals, and academic-vocational integration activities.
