Provides quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle (customer contacts, coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, litigation management, negotiation and resolution) including maintaining full compliance with internal and external quality standards and state specific regulations. Provides consulting and training resources, and serves as a contact and technical resource to the field and our business partners. **What Will You Do?** + Directly handles assigned claims. + Provides quality customer service and ensures file quality and timely coverage analysis and communication with insured based on application of policy information to facts or allegations of each case. + Consults with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed. + Directly investigate each claim through prompt and strategically-appropriate contact with appropriate parties such as policyholders, accounts, claimants, law enforcement agencies, witnesses, agents, medical providers and technical experts to determine the extent of liability, damages, and contribution potential. Interview witnesses and stakeholders; take necessary statements, as strategically appropriate. + Actively engages in the identification, selection and direction of appropriate internal and/or external resources for specific activities required to effectively evaluate claims, such as Subrogation, Risk Control, nurse consultants, and fire or fraud investigators, and other experts. + Verifies the nature and extent of injury or property damage by obtaining and reviewing appropriate records and damages documentation. + Maintains claim files and documents claim file activities in accordance with established procedures. + Utilizes evaluation documentation tools in accordance with department guidelines. + Proactively creates Claim File Analysis (CFA) by adhering to quality standards. + Utilizes diary management system to ensure that all claims are handled timely. At required time intervals, evaluate liability and damages exposure. + Establishes and maintains proper indemnity and expense reserves. + Recommends appropriate cases for discussion at roundtable. + Attends and/or presents at roundtables/ authority discussions for collaboration of technical expertise resulting in improved payout on indemnity and expense. + Actively and enthusiastically shares experience and knowledge of creative resolution techniques to improve the claim results of others. + Develops and employs creative resolution strategies. + Prompt and proper disposition of all claims within delegated authority. + Negotiates disposition of claims with insureds and claimants or their legal representatives. + Recognizes and implements alternate means of resolution. + Manages litigated claims. Summary/Objective: The Assistant Technician for Leak Repair is responsible for safely detecting, locating, evaluating and repairing leaks onsite at client work locations. Interacting with various customers to increase company presence in an assigned geographic area, as well as supervising and training new technicians or assistant technicians. The Assistant Technician is responsible for promoting the safety, quality, and integrity culture at Colt. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices alerting others regarding potential hazards both pertaining to and not pertaining to your scope of work Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to Colt's Core Values Assists in assesses leaking components and reports on findings to operations, engineering, and customer representatives Assists in leak repair operations that may include any of the following techniques and tasks: Drill and tap of components Wire wrap and banding Use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measure, to obtain complex design criteria Various Clamp and enclosure installation Measuring Complex geometries of components Maintain on call status with ability to respond to customers rapidly and travel immediately to address customers emergency on site. Dept: OAK Laboratory Schedule: 11pm - 730am Hours per pay period: 80 Performs all specimen collection by phlebotomy from the correct individual at in-house or off-site locations. In addition, obtains other specimens when indicated, and instructs patients in the collection of specimens as necessary. May be required to enter pathology specimens into various computerized information systems along with the preparation and staining of cytology specimens. Performs tasks in all laboratory areas under the direction of the appropriate supervisor, clinical laboratory technologists, cytotechnologists or other designated laboratory personnel and has appropriate knowledge and training of those areas so as to be able to function as necessary. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Performs proper specimen collection [blood and non-blood], including patient preparation, labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, transportation, and storage of specimens; complies with all standards for laboratory procedures. * Collects, verifies, and processes patient registration data and test order/entry into hospital information system/laboratory information system, including ABN compliance. * Processes specimens according to established guidelines. * Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols. * Performs waived tests and assists in other testing platforms with technical oversight. * Assists in quality control and performance improvement activities. * Ensures standards are met (quality, timeliness, customer service, etc.). * Orients and/or trains new staff. * Assists in assuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements, laws, and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department. * Answer telephone calls, performs computer tasks, prints reports and provides test results as applicable. * Performs therapeutic phlebotomies. * Dispatch and manage specimens and slides for consults, referrals, and other requests.
