Our 5-week morning program has 2 formats.
Younger students (TK - 2nd grade) will spend the entire morning program in one self-contained/intro classroom.
Older students (grades 2 and up) typically split their morning schedule into 3 blocks. Each block is a little over an hour long and has a different group of students. Most teachers teach the same class in each block.
This year, our program is for students in grades TK-8. We will no longer offer courses designed for high school students.

Campbell Hall (K-12, all-gender, college preparatory, Episcopal) is seeking faculty who are dedicated to the developmentally appropriate education of the whole child; who are interested in learning as well as teaching; who connect their responsibilities with the philosophy and purpose of the school; who teach to empower as well as to inform; who are comfortable with questions as well as with answers; who can work with direction, focus, humor and dignity within the complexities of a diverse school environment; and who will be dedicated to promoting and maintaining an inclusive school community.
In addition to their academic responsibilities, Campbell Hall faculty are involved in many aspects of school life. Coaching interscholastic athletics, chaperoning overnight experiential education trips, participating in community service activities, helping the students to produce school publications, overseeing student council, and leading a special interest club are just a few ways faculty are more deeply involved in the Campbell Hall community.

Responsibilities include the following:
Five blocks to include a combination of four classes (up to two preps) and one writing center block. The 9-12 English curriculum includes:
English 9 - A foundational year in which students explore different genres of stories and different styles of writing, as well as developing analytical voices.
English 10 - In both regular and honors sections, students focus on close reading and authorial intent, as well as different authorial stances on human experience.
English 11 - In both regular and CHAI sections, this class teaches rhetorical analysis through the lens of both fiction and non-fiction, with a particular focus on American literature.
English 12 - In both regular and CHAI sections, this class serves as a culmination year in which students perform high-level analysis and comparative studies of the works on the book list.
Writing Center duties (helping students with essays in any area of study).
Each class meets for 75 minutes every other day.
The English department is committed to teaching excellence in literary analysis, discussion, and writing, and to interrogating our curriculum to ensure that it reflects the diversity of human experience. Teachers collaborate with the other members of their teaching team to ensure uniformity of student experience and outcomes and a high level of academic challenge.
High school advisor (meet three times per week: one weekly group meeting and attendance at two chapels with advisees).
Monthly meetings include but are not exclusive to:
DAT (Deans, Advisors and Teachers)
English department
High school division
Supervision duty (once per quarter/semester during lunch).
Overnight experiential education trip chaperone (week-long, tent-camping trip).
All-school faculty/staff meetings three times per year.
Other duties as assigned by department chair and division-level administration.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher
At least 3 years of classroom experience
Patience and creativity when working collaboratively with a range of constituent groups, including students, families, faculty, staff and administration from diverse backgrounds (religious, ethnic, socio-economic etc.)
Strength in both written and oral methods of communication
A flexible attitude, strong organizational skills, and a passion for continuous learning
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience with students, families, and English curriculum at the high school level.
Experience collaborating with a team of teachers who work together to generate innovative curricula.
Proficiency with technology to include: Google Drive; interactive white boards; PowerSchool; Google Classroom and/or and website creation and maintenance, and a willingness to integrate technology into daily lessons.
