    Full-time, Temporary Description The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Teacher's Aide for Child's Way, our daycare center for medically fragile children. Child's Way is open from 6:30am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. This full-time position works 40 hours per week. No weekends, nights, or holidays. More about Child's Way here! Must have attained one of the following qualification levels: A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate. A minimum of an 8th grade education and enrollment in training curriculum. The classroom training portion of the curriculum shall be completed. Documentation of completion of classroom training and continuing enrollment in the training curriculum shall be included in the staff person's file. A minimum of an 8th grade education and 2 years of experience with children. 2. Ability to organize, prioritize, and communicate appropriately. 3. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively and positively communicate and cooperate with children, family members, physicians, other staff, and visitors. 4. Emotional and mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under stressful and emergency situations. 5. Cognitive ability to utilize basic knowledge of growth and development in interactions with children and families. 6. FBI Background Check, PA State Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, Mandated Reporter, National Sex Offender Registry clearances. SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED: 1. Two or more years of experience working with children. 2. Prior experience working with children in a childcare setting preferred. Salary Description $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
