Wethersfield Public Schools' CLASS (Continued Learning Across Summer Session) program is seeking certified and non-certified staff to design, plan, and facilitate courses aimed at providing our incoming 1-8 general education students with an opportunity to socialize and engage in enrichment learning opportunities including academic, leadership, STEAM and cultural arts/physical education integration this summer.
Position: Grades 1-8 CLASS Summer School Teacher
School: District - CLASS will be hosted at Emerson-Williams Elementary School
Start Date:
July 7-31, 2025 Monday - Thursday
Week 1 - July 7-10
Week 2 - July 14-17

Teachers hired will be afforded the flexibility to facilitate one or more courses that run for one week (4 days) based on program need/enrollment.
Compensation:
For certified staff (teachers, tutors, paraprofessionals, Kelly Subs) the contractual rate is $39.12 per hour until June 30, 2025. Starting July 2, 2025 the contractual rate is $40.10 (per collective bargaining agreement)
or non-certified staff (tutors, paraprofessionals, Kelly Subs) the rate is $25 per hour.
There will be a paid 3-hour “orientation” meeting required of all hired teachers prior to the start of the program. After the start of the program, 0.25 hours of planning time will be paid for each hour worked.
In person classes will be held July 7 through July 31 Monday through Thursday 8:30 am - 12:30 pm;
Teachers hired will be afforded the flexibility to facilitate one or more courses that run for one week (4 days) based on program need/enrollment. Teachers may teach a 2, 3 or 4 hour course each day.
Teachers hired will determine and communicate their anticipated schedule (weeks, days) to the Program Coordinator for approval.
Number of Positions:
Number of positions will vary depending on enrollment and grant funds.
Courses will run if a minimum of 5 students register.
