This is a temporary, part-time position providing summer school to adolescents who are receiving treatment services under Volunteers of America-Alaska, ARCH program. The position is responsible for the entire curriculum throughout the summer and will collaborate with the Program Director on curriculum. Preference will be given to an individual who enjoys the outdoors, outdoor activities, and has the ability to guide adolescents through physical education. This position requires the willingness to incorporate the outdoor curriculum into the program and must be comfortable taking the youth on outings outside of the facility with the assistance of other staff.

The Writing Center (WC) is seeking student writing tutors to work with UAS students. The job requires solid writing skills and the ability to coach students through all stages of the writing process, though we do provide training with our "grow-a-tutor" model. Perfect writing is not required, but a strong foundation and a willingness to learn are. A student tutor position is a great opportunity to improve mentoring skills, learn about tutoring/teaching strategies, and gain professional work experience. Student tutors are also involved in special projects run by the Writing Center such as writing contests and the publication of the in-house academic journal, Summit.
