Assist with supervision of all phases of the volleyball program--planning, strategy, instruction in fundamentals, and so forth.
Responsible for care and issuance of all volleyball equipment used by the team.
Communicate with high school coaching staff(s) and attend meetings or mini clinics at high school(s) to ensure continuity in the DCSD 7-12 grade girls volleyball program.
Understand, monitor, and enforce district academic standards, policies, and eligibility requirements.
Develop players to their fullest potential, starting with the basic fundamentals of the game of volleyball and progressing to skills beyond what is considered average.
Understand and promote good sportsmanship among student-athletes.
Complete required reports and record accurately and in a timely manner.
Has a thorough knowledge of and responsible for the athletic policy approved by the Board of Education.
Supervise players at all practices and games, as well as in the locker room and on the bus.
Must possess an enthusiastic attitude and ability to understand intermediate-aged youth in an athletic setting.
Work in cooperation with the building Activity Director and with the Director of Athletics for the Davenport Community Schools
Other duties as assigned by administration.
Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.
Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.

The West Delaware School District is the home of the Hawks. Our district has a student enrollment of approximately 1,400 students in grades PK-12. We have three attendance centers: Lambert Elementary serving PK-4, West Delaware Middle School serving 5-8, and West Delaware High School serving 9-12. Our district has PLC time scheduled every Wednesday starting at 1:30 and our school district is 1:1 using Chromebooks. Lambert Elementary and the Middle School are located on one campus.
