JOB DESCRIPTION FOR TEACHERS (CAREGIVERS): The Lead Teacher is responsible for formulating and implementing the curriculum, the weekly lesson plans, and training of Assistant Teachers. The Lead Teacher is expected to help in the classroom as needed, and at times, to even help in groups that are not officially under his/her jurisdiction. Another key role is to be a liaison with parents and staff relationships as well as peer relationships. The Assistant Teachers and / or floater will report to the Lead Teacher with any problems they may have. The Lead Teacher is responsible to report to the Director. The person selected for this position must be professionally prepared as a teacher of young children and have at least a CDA. This person must also have classroom experience. Management skills and experience are a plus. This person must also exhibit sensitivity, an ability to prioritize, have common sense, and have the ability to see all sides of every situation.
